the yonah madness seems more and more less fun ... what started as a enthousiast contest is now turning into a thing we all remember the bad way in some time....

    - first the boards
    - then conroe came by
    - then the colboot/bug
    - and now we have a stepping problem

    whats next

See my post here, your mobo corresponds both to the PD column and the CD column since it's a 975 chipset but uses slower CD CPU's. Since BSEL2 is already connected to ground when using a 166 MHz CPU you only have to bother about the other two pins.

Check out this datasheet for the CPU, BSEL configuration on page 25, and in table 5-1 on page 46 you'll find the actual pins on the second row.
Ask the Dothan people how you perform the mod, it's quite popular among laptop users. Here's a guide, since it's a PM they're using other pins for the mod but otherwise it should be the same.

The old corresponding mod for Athlon XP allowed higher clocks on nVidia mobos, I'd say it's worth a try. Just make sure you do it right.
Would it be possible to pin mod a core duo laptop and get this same result? Just curious

nice results.....but too bad its overshadowed by Conroe....too bad by the time Yonah actually hit retails shores fully, conroe will have debuted and yonah would be left for dead....until Merom debuts dat is...so far not much infos on Merom...

Absolutely You just need to unscrew your laptop to actually get to the socket
Besides you can not only change fsb but also vcore. That was with dothan though, still unknown for yonah but it should work the same way. BTW, hardware vcore pin mod also works for amd s754/939 cpus so I guess there is one idea for many cpus.

Well I'm thinking of trying it out on a mac mini, heh. I'll probably wait and see if someone else gets it working with yonah on a laptop first, but it'll still be interesting to see. Thanks for responding
