    DT200 vs DT150 thermometer

is it ok just to go with a dt150 or is it absolutly necessary to have the dual output with the 200, or just convenient? im only doing single stage right now, but a cascade is in the somewhat distant future. when working with cascades it would seem just plugging and unplugging into different probes would be just fine but a little more hassle thats all..
so the question, is a dt200 just basically a little more convenient then the 150?
    Thanks

I wouldn't say that totally...its not that big of a headache just having one prob input. But for as many things as i build personally, i wish i had the DT200 just for that purpose...especially for my dual headed GPU cascade i'm building...it would be nice.

Hrm...anyone up for a trade + cash or wanna buy my DT150 ?!!? (hijack)

to do a system right ya need one on the evap and one on the suction line to do supaheat , if its got ice in the beer then its cold
    and one meter per stage.

sneil a dt150 is better that any meter that only reads to -50c.
i cant wait to see how cold ya get that meter

if you have a dt 150 look at a fluke 16, they have 1 type k thermocoupler and are a good multimeter and also read capacitance . so it reads volts, ohms capacitance and temp. under 100.00 new on ebay, i have got new ones for 75.00

I think they are a better choice for a first meter since it has all the functions needed for building a rig.It was designed for hvac work. better value than a dt150

I was thinking about getting a Fluke 54. I know some hvac guys and they said they stand by fluke, played with theirs nice stuff.

I was looking at the Fluke 54
    http://www.tequipment.net/FlukeThermo54.html

a bit pricier then the DT200 but flukes are nice

    what do you think

as far as the fluke 16 goes according to the manf. specs. it only reads down to -40C so thats a bit of a problem as far as our needs go...just a little FYI.

personally i'm ordering a dt150 on friday for $73 from Apple Electronics. (plus S&H) Lowest priced new dt200 i ran into was 109.95 plus shipping.

iirc only the included probe goes to -40c ,you can buy additional ones that go to -130c or so iirc.

Who is talking about fluke 16? Fluke 54 is the one I am looking at. And the temperature limits are on the probe from what I read.

To mean that you (I hardly remember it, I see only a fogged image) built a weirdo cascade
with oversized screw compressors and used a very weird thing with a lot of valves.

Hope that you're happy that I recognized somehow you.
