are you guys going to warranty the memory up to 2.6V? Seems a little extreme.

The question is can promos run stable with 2.6V or at least keep responding to voltage

I notice these have 8 layer PCB. Is this allowing greater performance from Promos chips?

It will be interesting to see the benches on these.

Since the Team Xtreme Pc4200 (D9CGT) is priced about the same as the Team Dark (Promos) I think it would be interesting to see a comparison of the two.

The Team Xtreme Pc4200 did Extremely well from one independent reviewer here at XS.

Check this out at the bottom-->http://www.anandtech.com/tradeshows/...spx?i=2908&p=3

Apparently Anandtech is getting 3-3-3-9 DDR2 800 at 2.30 volts with these sticks. Thats not bad and I bet the 8 layer PCB has something to do with it.

At this point I'm rather impressed with how Promos performs with the right PCB.

sounds familiar. i'm testing the 2x1gb ddr2-667 dark kit, tops out around 375mhz with 3-3-3 on the AM2 platform. from what I can tell, promos clocks better with intel chipsets
Got a fan over those memory sticks? No? Well get to it before you kill them

I've been doing a bit of testing with the Xtreem Dark DDR2-800 2Gb kit and the best I have done so far is DDR2-975 4-4-4-12 @ 2.2v

you can't make a blanket statement like that. those particular Promos ICs on that particular PCB aren't doing good for you, but not all Promos are crap and not all Promos can only handle 2.15v.

my OCing report on the Team Dark is going to be coming up soon, but here is a sneak peek. yes they run pretty good at lower volts and tighter latencies. no they don't respond to voltage like D9s but with the 8-layer PCB Team is using, they do hold their own up to 2.40v and possibly higher. the one thing i have found is that they don't like 5-5-5 that much, either AM2 or on the P5B-Dlx.

here are a couple of nice screens from the Team Dark 6400 C4:

    DDR800 // 3-4-3-8 // 2.30v // P5B-Dlx // Prime/Dual32M/WinMemtest
    click for full screen shot...

    DDR1000 // 4-4-4-8 // 2.25v // P5B-Dlx // Prime/Dual32M/WinMemtest
    click for full screen shot...

These results are from a review sample but I was assured they are not hand-picked in anyway, your standard retail sample pulled from the shelf.
i don't quote in my signature, but best WR ever...

I recently bought the DDR2-800 Xtreem Dark kit... I have a Gigabyte DS3 rev.1 and E6300@3,13Ghz now. I got the kit cause its very cheap nowadays. Using F10 BIOS i could only get 430 stable at 1:1. After upgrading to F11 BIOS I started o/c ing 1 step at a time... like in 3-5MHz increments. I got up to 447(5-5-5-12) 1:1 at 2.1V for RAM and 1.38125V Vcore. Anyway seems that performance fluctuates from time to time... so is stability , at least in Orthos. Even the achieved 894MHz started gave me errors in Orthos after 42mins. Maybe its a power related thing that didnt appear in the first attempts. If things kept on like before i bet i could go at least 920-930MHz@5-5-5-12
