    qub 69™

    Greetings to everybody.

Just to declare right at the begining, I do not have any of nice tools like others do, I smiply DIY.

My tools are basicaly: drill, rasp, hammer and my hands, no dremel, no cnc etc.

Nothing more for now, the next project I hope will involve some more advanced technology

Also, I don't have much funds, but simply doing my best for a buck.

My last excuse would be that I live in Croatia, Europe and I don't have any water cooling parts available, all I have was brought from EK, Slovenia. (I miss bitspower compression and elbow fittings most)

    The case?

Believe it or not, under the plastic bag is black lianli PC-A05

I suppose you're all well introduced with this case. I've chosen it because it is small and still it supports full ATX MBO's.

Components for the pc will be my "old" Q6600G0, 8GB ram, biostar tpoweri45, 8800GT...

    I've bought some new thingys:

    Kaze Q, 4-channel potenciometer.

The texture of the aluminium on kaze simply doesn't go well with lianli's panel:

And as this is THE lianli, i said myself, that isn't nice at all.

    So I tore apart kaze:

And made front panel for kaze from the 3.5" original bay shutter:

    ALERT awesome picture ALERT

(my excuses for that, it's just that I have only compact sony w70, and poor lightning condition, so I'm proud for every picture that comes out nice. But I dream about, let's say, olympus e520, for a start)

Now, on to water cooling parts:

For NB block I simply recycled old one from my P5K which has hook mounts, drilled the holes in plexi for tpower, and painted it black:

SB block, LGA775/1366 mounting plate, ordered from EK:

This just left the MOSFET part uncooled. WB for that doesn't exist, so I took the stock cooling solution, disassembled MOSFET part from heatpipe and NB part, added so called "crazy cool" part, and instead of push pins, mounted it with screws.

In the end, I came up with somethin like this:

The system will have 2xmagicoolpro3 radiators:

I went shopping the other day, bought some nice stuff (6x120mm, antifreeze, decoration sticker)

The child in me always wants to play, so I've built a tower

That seems powerful, don't you think?

The pump is ddc-1t modded in plus version, and is mounted in two 5.25" cages with rubber from inner blown tire of my bicycle (I don't use cd/dvd readers). The rubber actually totally kills the vibrations

Enough for today, just two teasers:

    Sketchup for rad holder

And a carbon fibre imitation sticker

    Comments are welcome.
Tomorrow I'll add some more photos

The blocks look nice! My favorite part so far is the modded fan controller. It must have been difficult to cut the lian li panel to fit so perfectly. The controller looks very clean and professional, as if it were intended to be that way!

Your carbon fiber imitation sticker is stuff of Movies and Novels.

Hehe, thanks, if I had more money, the final carbon imitation would be perfect as I would have more of it. So I had to deal with the amount I had the best way I could.

As I promised, more photos today.

I managed to get my hands on plasma cutter (woohoo ), and the job came out well. This was great experience for my next build that will be made "ab ovo". Although, holes for rad mounting were drilled by hand drill by me

    Pictures speak for themselves:

This was made out of one piece of steel plate, thickness 2mm, and hand bend to get the J shape

This is how it will be mounted on the chassis:

    As always, comments are welcome!

    Good stuff, De5tr0yer

(I prefer the pics just a tad smaller, but that's just my preference so they fit nicely on my laptop display)

Well, the pics are already uploaded

Next project will be in 1024x768, I promise

    Another update:

SLI hard drives (), glued rubber feet on the side on which they will lay, aslike as on the sides of the HDD cage:

Res on top of the chassis:

    "The Paintjob"

Sleeves ordered from MDPC-X arrived, 74€ paid, IMO pretty much, but my wish since I saw you guys sleeving yours was to do that too.

Darkness on MBO (MOSFET block sprayed black, aswell as GPU acrylic cover):

    Sleeved cables:

    ATX 24pin:

Enough for the weekend, more to come Hope you enjoy watching!

Guys, I'm sorry to inform you that todays testing went wrong, horribly wrong.

I managed to get MBO to post at FSB higher than 430FSB by reverting to old 710 BIOS, I've hit 470 FSB with no problem.

But the problems started when I cranked the V into my Q6600. 4010MHz@1.74V, less V->prime unstable, but at this freq and V the CPU was too hungry for voltage so my Strider600W obviously got very VERY hot (due to blocked fan from HDD cage) and now it has nice burnt odor...

I'm not eager to see if this power supply works by putting it inside my primary machine, so I am waiting for Seasonic x-650 or x-750 to appear in my country (anyone who wants to send me one from newegg?). Therefore, I cannot upload more pictures as they are on that machine.

Hope you can be patient enough and keep tracking

    Thanks for understanding.

    Hey, I'm back.

The PSU did NOT die. The tpowah mbo did. Simply gone on flame right in front of my eyes...

So, I ordered maximus2formula from ebay.

But I will upload the pics with explanations before now, so you can keep track.

    Sleeved team:

Cable "management" behind hdd cage/front 5.25" bays:

    Mounted rads:

Here is the build that was finished before my mbo died, I made some alternations to that you see here, it will be shown later on

If you all agree for an update tomorrow, say so

    Comments appreciated!

A very creative solution for external radiator mounting!

Good Luck with your new board - any idea what happened to it?
