    AN50R emits high-frequency sound :/

    My AN50R emits a high-frequency sound...

In the beginning the sound only appered all 5 oder 6 seconds. but now I have this all the time :/

but if, for example, i resize a window very fast the sound disappears for the time resizeing the window...

Someone said that it's the fault of the SATA controler? would an external controller help?

can i do anything against it?

    thx

    semtex

oh... yes... sorry for my bad english

I would guess it that it may be those kingston memory modules. I borrowed a pair from a friend and they made alot of noise. The KHX3000 i have now has a different pcb and is dead quiet, but those 3200's were LOUD.

huh... that would be worse... but it is quiet possible because the noise is coming from somewhere above the gpu..

I'll try it with my old pc2700 samsung...

When i get them in (about) 5 hours i'll post if it has worked or not...

i've got a similar problem with my a7n8x-deluxe. it makes strange noises when I'm running prime (twice a second it makes a small beep). when i'm transferring files from my digital camera to the PC over the serial port it makes a pulsing noise, but a lot slower then when i'm priming. like tu.... tu.... tu.....

i also have the same ghost noise with the audio. I've got high quality (sensitive) headphones, and I even hear a small 'rrrrrrrrr' noise when moving my mouse

    LMAO

To be honest, Ive got the same problem with my Shuttle AN35N-Ultra. It also produces a high frequency whistling noise, and it's not the RAM that causes this noise, because this RAM ran for one year in my Abit NF7 without making any noise at all (as it should).

ok i'll rma this f**** board! there's something TERRIBLE wrong with the storrage controlers....

if i plug in my ide hdd ==> PC is not booting (freezing @ "updating dmi pool data")

if the PC boots i have this "sound"... everytime... i was able to capture it!

listen to this... this was while my brother sent some files over the network.

    http://www.w00t.at/VOICE008.zip

    Isn't this strange?

I hope that rma won't take too long. this is my 2nd pc is only an old 1300 MHz Thunderbird.

Man, that's really some weird sound that your board is emitting.

I thought i was hearing fairies..

my AN50R makes similar high pitched noises as well (esp when underload), but it doesnt affect the performance at all

    guess I cant complain about 265 1:1 2-2-2-6

well but i don't want a board that makes such noise.. I don't care that much about overclocking. I just want a silent system

mhm when i get the board back and it makes the same noise i'll really get angry

Dont caps occasionaly make high pitched whining sounds? Not sure if it means they are dying or dead or fine..

Yes caps can be noisy but typically only if they are old and dried out, or other such damage, try the old trick of putting a long solid piece of plastic on each component and sticking it to your ear, works for well for isolating physical sounds in an engine, may be worth a shot here... Torroids will sing under the right circumstances, and sometimes it can be difficult to trach low feq sounds...

hmmm i just got a 2nd hand AN50R which is volt modded and get this same high pitch constant sound.. only realised the noise as i just moved to water cooling for my AMD64 system

so anyone know what the noise is from ? at first I thought it was my liteon 411 dvd burner but pulled that out and still get the same noise

I think the ram are to blame. when i turn down the voltage to 2.7V it's not as loud as it was before...

when I put them into the system of my best friend I hear nothing... even not at 2.9 Volt.

I think its those coily circular things. Something about extra power or something. You can put some glue on and it wil quite it down.

Its the blue thing with the copper around it most likely. There was a thread about the 8KDA3J with the same problem.
