    First Time H20 + Lian Li 343B - Final Pics

    Well the holidays slowed me down a bit but I got back on track today and knocked out most of what I had planned. I am still going to install a 120mm Yate to blow across the 8800's. I changed a few items from the original setup. Switched the fans from push to pull, added another raptor for Raid 0, larger heat sinks on the front ramdac's on the 8800's, switched the MCW30 from the NB to the SB and added a DD-680i on the NB. I had the system up and running for a week and found that the SB got quite warm when benching as did the the ramdac's. The coveted 500 FSB has proven to be unattainable for me, although I am to be able to hit 490, stable with ease. Pretty happy with my memory as well, while rated at 800, it easily runs 1000 at stock volts. My goal was 4.0, but for now it seems to be capped at 3.92 GHz stable. I can boot at different multipliers all the way to 4.06, but stability becomes an issue. I hope to get some better numbers with the SB now being cooled. I have still not found a 80mm fan I am happy with, may have to put a rheo in to slow them down a bit. Even in this large space the cables on the 1KW are a nightmare to manage. Too bad it’s not modular. Overall, I am pretty happy with my first venture into H20 cooling. I sure would like to try a TEC on the 6800 as well as the 8800’s……….

    Whao! excellent work, i love the very neat look.
    Big thums up for your cable management!

    Two things however:

    1 The tubes to and fro the reservoirs look a little disfigured, a little kinked if you like. What tube is it?

    2 Even smaller detail; swap the white cable ties on the black sleeved cables for black ones, that way they blend in better.

    The rest is absolute top notch!

    A piece of heaven !! This is what a computer looks like in Nirvana !! :thumbsup:

    How does that Primoflex compare to Tygon? I think your 1kW may be enough if its the SR version.

    Congratulations on your great overclock. Wish I was that lucky, although I don't have your cpu.

    Enjoy your beautiful machine! Happy gaming!

    It looks like 1/2 primoflex blue tubing, its really soft tubing.

    Solarfall: My temps at idle are: CPU=36c GPU1=38c GPU2=40c

    Pete: Loop #1 order = res pump rad CPU NB SB Loop #2 order = res pump rad GPU1 GPU2.

    Shift: I use a USB burner and another 500 gig USB for misc.

    Zeus: I put cable ties on the 3 tubes that were disfigured, works great. I will swap those white ties out next time I am in there (read new Swiftech block) Thanks for the tip.

    Iany: I like the Primoflex, easy to use. I have some Masterkleer here as well as some other stuff but IMO the Primo forms better and is easier to work with. I never tried the Tygon. The PSU is the SR model I just wanted it to only run the MB and GPU's. The Antec runs everything else. Probably overkill but wanted power as stable as possible.

    Thanks a lot for the comments guys. I really appreciate it.

    Totally off-topic. I have a USB box with a Plextor 760 in it on my desktop as well. I'm too lazy to bend down each time I want to swap DVDs/CDs.

    Do you ever have an issue of USB opticals disappearing? My usb HDDs don't disappear, but I get very annoyed when my optical disappears for no reason, and then comes back without "fixing."

    And my Swiftech heatsinks are starting to drive me crazy again. I may give up and use EKs blocks instead to solve my constant fiddling. The temp differential cannot be more than 2 degrees.

    My overclock stinks. I can't get past 365 FSB but I can get a less optimal higher clock by upping the multiplier.

    If you really feel the MB is walling and you want to try to push it a little more, use clockgen to up the speed in windows. I netted an extra 100Mhz on my 680i/E6300 that way. Mine appears to wall at about 485 MHz.... 100% stable 484, wont boot any higher. Boo!

    In my case, I haven't even reached what my mobo will do. Its the darn cpu that generally hits a wall at 375-380. Quad cores can't overclock too well, but I'm close to the top level overclock for a quad core.

    Iany I have not had any disappearing drive problems with this board. Not that I like them but I use a Sony USB burner. The only issue I have had with this board is the keyboard beep and that was solved with the USB keyboard. I am glad I held back on the quad for now. I tweaked the setup last night for several hours and I found no joy with clockgen. I did find however that the temps would go much lower as I pulled the voltages down. I saw 25c at idle which is about 3-4 degrees above ambient in my home. Pretty amazing. I still have no 4.0 or 500 but I did get my best scores ever in the benchmarks last night. Better than some, not as good as others but all & all a pretty quick system.

    3DMark03=63413

    3dMark05=24535

    3dMark06=16790

    I'm sure there is more left, I just need to find the time to do it.

    Man, its one expensive case! I just priced the bare case with the accessories that I need, without PSU, without radiators and without fans.

    I am so sticker shocked that its not funny. Makes my Mountain Mods look like a el cheapo Wal-Mart special lol

    $750 without shipping lol

    I hear ya, a budget case it is not but it does have a lot of setup possibilities. I am already working on a different tray design for the top. Its going to be much more efficient than the current one. Straight shots to the rads etc.

    What the hell.. its just money and you only live once, right?

    I'm supposed to buy a case to last for years, not having to upgrade... and that's the justification I give myself every six months because I see some new hot looking case that I absolutely must have

    lol, I hear you. I just bought a Silverstone TJ09 in November and now it sadly sits empty in the garage. I now wonder how I lived in those small boxes for all these years.
