Nice board this Abit IP35-E,good layout, good cooling, and sometimes even better than Pro... (just kidding).
I like her,I'm pleased 99% for the time being, especially after I've put on her the BetaBIOS,using successfully the Flash Menu (update from file).

500 FSB $80 buck with $20 MIB is tempting me to get one of these boards, i've been holding out for x38 but seeing those numbers makes it difficult

If i so happen to get this board do you think running it with some decent parts like E6850 and Reaper 8500 is ideal, or should i just run it with some cheap parts and OC

Whats the best Mem and CPU anyone recommend for this board

get the cheap parts and oc them. 4300@3700, 6300@3570 and both paid $110 each. 6400 Ballistix's @1200 and I paid $80AR. I have more fun with stuff like this then the 6850 I do have. I am old school and old school was cheap and fast.

    QFT!

overclocking to me was always getting the lesser expensive parts and see how far they can go.

killer clock with the quad i thought they were hard to get past 3.2 most of the time. I can run my e6600@3700 463x8 just gets close to 60c i like 3600 better at lower temps. Id really like to know what to tweak to get over 500fsb i cant manage that at all on 6x or 7x muti.

The beta bios 1.3 fixes the double boot but the temp are off now in AbitEQ. They read 5c more the core temp.

Just got the new beta. 1t doesn't seem to work though? cpuz still reports 2t. besides, i wasn't expecting even gkx to be able to do 400 4-4-4 1t with only 2.0v and 1.3v on the mch

I will use the 6300 a few days and on the weekend I will try a 6850 in it. So far it seems like a nice board. The price can't be beat.

Droop is bad, needs a pencil mod. Anyone know how?

what's your latest opinion of the IP35-E board?...i've been thinking of getting one to replace my wife's system...she has been having problems with her asus P5B Dlx board...not enough to RMA it but a lot of little nagging issues.

Ace-a-Rue,you may also look over this.
As a testament to the prowess of the P35-E,I replicated the results that I had with the Asus Commando and the Gigabyte P35-DS3R and got the same overclock to 3.15 ghz on stock voltage.
If you’re wondering about the performance of the P35-E against other boards, you’ll be happy to know that it performs at par with the competitors, even the high end models.

It's the most problem free, easy oc'ing board I have ever had. I loved Abit in the old days but the Abit boards I have bought in the last year have left a bad taste in my mouth. If this mb would not have been dirt cheap I would not have bought it. I am now glad I did and really like it a lot. I would recommend it to anyone. Most of the problems posted at XS are not the boards fault. The only one is the double boot(which is very common) and that is now fixed in the beta 1.3 bios.

Like the old saying: "try it you'll like it".

abit is working on the double boot issue but if you dont shut down your computers much you dont even notice it that much. I thk cpuz reads timings wrong because on everest it reads as 1t and i get 9000megs read 462x8 memory running same.

I have no problem with the double boot; It adds maybe 5 seconds to the boot time.. Plus, I never turn off this computer, so I never notice it.

Also, if you are caring for the health of the hdd's during said double boot, there is an option for a delay in spinning up the drives

The beta 1.3 bios does cure double boot so the next bios release will eliminate this problem.
