Today I made a simple shreader to propane bottle conversion valve. I thought, maybe some people want to see how I made it.

This conversion pipe is made because many people (including me) uses propane as a refridgerant. I couldn't find a conversion pipe from propane to shreader so I made one. Because there weren't any guides on the forum, I made some pictures and a discription of how to make one.

First of all, we need a connector. I used a connector from a propane hose. This can be bought at practicaly any supply store that sells torches (for dutch and german people: Horn bach is the store to look at).

Saw it off

The parts. A gas nut (turning left to tight them) from the hose, a shreader valve on a 6mm pipe and the coupling that I sawed from the hose.

The hole in the coupling was around 4mm. So I had to drill a bigger hole in it. I did not drill entirely trough the coupling but left 2mm.

How it should be put together

This is how it will fit on the propane bottle (now unbrazed)

The coupling brazed onto the shrader valve.

Detail shot. The coupling is brazed with 40% silver + flux around the rod because the coupling itself is steel.

The completed Shreader to propane bottle conversion valve.

I hope this is a usefull guide

It is quite simple to make, but there aren't any guides on XS .

Good luck
