some pics of my new bullet proof p4ca3+

unfortunatly it wont be running till tomorow hopefully when fedex brings the rest of my parts.

so while im waiting i decided to do my mobo mods first.

took off NB and used ceramique on it.
    as3 epoxied a SB hs
as3 hand cut sinks for all mostfets including the NB mosfet.

    epox ep-4pca3+ rev2.2
why that one? i just have a feeling about it is all i can say for now.
thats a 2.8E in the socket btw.
2x512mb pc2700 kingston value ram that just so happens to use bt-d43 chips.
just so you dont think im wacko for useing pc2700,those chips are what everyone uses most times besides adata on pc4000-4400 sticks.
should be good for 260fsb easy 280-290fsb with work later.

im coupling this with a fortron 530wt psu.

also ill be useing an alpha pal 8942T
    with high output 92mm fan.
im hopeing the air coming off the cpu will be enough hitting the NB HS,if not ill be adding a fan.
some stuff that will be running in this rig will be basic until i can afford the goodies. next months shopping list includes 2 raptors for raid0 and a 9800pro or x800.
followed by a prommy or vapochill.

    here is a few pics.
ill post some initial benches tommorow once everything is verified as working.no ocing for a day so i can burn in the mobo and ram a bit before cranking on em.

    now for some pics!

    ty!i love makingmystuff unique
soon as i kick fedex in the arse! its definatly gonna be here tomorow.
they have my hs/fan and psu so nothing can be done without that.

ill run stock or just a tad over for a day to break the mobo and ram in.the cpu was bought from another forums member so its should be rather burnt in anyhow.i just like priming a day before ocing is all.
but im sure i will do some intial testing of high mhz and fsb but without prime, just 1 day tho.

Definitely an odd board choice, I don' know of anyone else who has one.

But if you have a feeling, then I wish the best.

i picked it for several reasons.

one the asus p4c800e-d was to much $$$ i need ichr sata raid0
abits ic7 series i dont like for lack of fsb running 1:1
ai7 cant handle prescotts like i want to use them.

    that only left this choice.
wether its a good choice ill have to find out.
ive read several posts on themand it seems a 50/50 draw on it from others opinions.

plus i like a challenge and being unique

$130 for the epox and $188 for the asus. newegg prices btw.

same features also but the epox does 3vdimm
the asus needs vdimm mod but isnt hard im told.

huhn ive heard that from others also.ive also heard others say its the best mobo they ever owned also.

im rather patient so i will get the max oc out of it before i give up.

    nice mobo,
id love 3.8ghz on air! isnt gonna happen with my prescott on air tho, least i dont think so.

heat will cut me short at 3.6ghz im sure.
my rig will fold 24/7 so i cant be taking any shortcuts in cooling.

my goal is 4ghz with a prommy. i know thats gonna be easy tho.
4.4ghz would be a gift from heaven!

im rather used to pushing my parts to thier maxs so if its got in it ill get there.

what rated speed is that value ram? I'm looking for some of the D43. I guess going to circuit city and hand picking them would be the best option.

    thats the only option.
    its kvr333 512 pc2700

try best buy also. i havent tested anything as fedex shows my hs/fan just left indy earlier today on its way to ohio.

im kicking myself for not getting next day air!

ive read many posts here and other places these modules are getting between 270-285 fsb dual channel.

i wont be able to test that high as my 2.8E will top out on air im guessing 250-260fsb

i bought these sticks from a guy on another forum who ran amd and didnt know just how good the bt-d43 chips are. $160 shipped for 1gb!

hey are those kingston value modules? reason i ask is im looking for some kick arse memory for my intel and from past experiance the el-cheapo seem to run the best in these 875/865 chipsets so i figured if these sticks were realy that good? id like to go grab a couple sticks myself from circuit city and see how they fare? please let me know a little more about those dimms you posted...

i mean comon 29 bucks a pop after rebate possibly the best deal on memory in a long time? that is IF these are the memory you speak of?

dude my sticks rock for what i paid.
im limited now by heat to 3.4-3.5ghz
i did memtest them at 250 fsb 1:1 1.6vdimm and they passed.

im adding better cooling if it kills me so i can max this precott and ram out. heat is my only enemy.

    i do 3.4ghz @ 1.36vcore
and 3.5ghz@1.4vcore but once it heats up with prime prime will fail.shows me heat is holding me back, everything else is willing.

best bet to get sticks like these is to hand pick them at bestbuy and Circuit city. i found mine for $160 shipped for a gig from another forums member who had amd and couldnt use them.
    steal of the century.

btw the part numbers match but that means nothing about the ic's themselves and i do know for a fact they use other ic's also.

all tests ive seen people do on these its 270-290fsb 1:1 always.

hey, good work with the mods.
but you forgot the vagp-mosfet. its the one between agp and pci1.
made an fingertest at full load...

woooo nice tip! i didnt even see the vagp mosfet. i have more ramsinks also and will be doing that tomorow also
ive been told about the vagp tie in with helping ocing,i cant remember which it helps cpu or chipset, anyhow ive been running mine +.1vagp anyhow just for good luck.

im still cpu heat limited till i get my phase change unit in 2 weeks.ive sent bowman 2 PM's over at other place and no responce to either.

i want a inexpensive >$500 unit so if you know anyone with good stuff let me know or ill be visiting kit-tronics for a mach1

perc the pics of the ram are above. 2x kingston value ram pc2700 with hynix bt-43d chips. where circut city or best buy for best bets and you need to shop the stores not online.i found mine from an amd forum member at oc.com who couldnt use them.

here is some updated info on these,260 1:1 @2.64vdimm 2.5-4-4-7 and passed memtest 0 errors.ive not really tried pushing lower timings or higher fsb until i go phase change as i refuse to just melt this chip for benchmarks sake.http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...threadid=35343

btw as for the mobo it just rocks and couldnt be more pleased.
i do recomend it and the ram,the prescott i recomend ONLY to people who have h20 or better cooling.

you identify the stick by the ic's marking on these you want the ending to be bt-d43 kinda hard to see by my pic but its there.

be aware hynix has other ics out there and arent half as good as these. just make sure its the exact same bt-d43 marking.
i think the other marking nor so good marking is "im guessing here" is bh-t43 or something like that. im not even sure kingston uses these but ive read about them is all, knowledge saves money and time!

these sticks are the sleeper sticks of the oc world.
