How did this Slip by.... Bad Axe 2 Available...

I remember when I first saw the BX2, I was amazed that it had 3 volts available to it right from bios...
however, seeing this persons post here...

    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...8&postcount=15

    it shows only 2.8 volts.
    however, thats still 2.8 volts

thing is... I am surprised theres been so little buzz about this board.
is it a dud, or are people just focusing on the Asus and Abit?

I've been wondering that myself. No one and I mean NO ONE cares about this board. I brought up the subject about a month ago and a splatter of replies, and then nothing. Weird...I guess those blue flame heatsinks need to be lit up with LED's and the board to cost $400 for anyone to care anymore.

It looks like it doesn't have the Kentsfield multiplier problem, which is good to see.

No idea, I am kinda curious because I have gotten bored with this P5W64 and want something different. No holes in this damn asus board means no WC on the chipset I tried mounting my block but with only 2 hooks it's impossible to keep the block square against the chipset, tubing pushes it all over the place.

Not as much fan-fare with this board, to be sure - but we are selling them. I'm down to 4 OEM units left.

Also, please understand that the retail BX2 is a newer revision that those shown to reviews with the QX6700 bundle. Not only has the PCB changed (somewhat) but the BIOS is much improved with MANY new options.

It looks like you have the original Bad Axe specs. listed, they are not the same for the Bad Axe 2 (Marvel 88SE6145 secondary SATA-RAID controller at 300 MB/s, Sigmatel 9274D):

    ftp://download.intel.com/design/moth...D7364501US.pdf

By the way, is it possible for you to order the lower cost LAD975XBX2LKR version?:

    http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd..._available.htm

EDIT: Or is that the "OEM" version you are selling already?

I think that the last thing to consider when you want to buy a new mobo. I like the price, a nice break from Asus' $300 and $400 heatpipe monsters.

I think people are bored of the 975 chipset, and most are interested in something new.

That would the BearLake-X, the "X38". But it sounds like you are going to have to wait until next summer:

Yeah. I've gathered that... But there did used to be a 985 being bandied about and I've kindof been away from this for a little while (hence the crappy OC on my CPU) But I've been working hard so I can afford a stupidly expensive CPU lol.

BX2 has OC hooks enabled for all processors. The "OC Debug" jumper is still there, but it is no longer used.

Here is the best I got with a BX2. My air cooler is crappy, so the core speed is low, but I got pretty good FSB and memory.
