How much volatge can I safely run on Pentium D 805 with air cooling?

I have a pentium D 805 currently running at 3.75 ghz with 1.4V. I want to know how much voltage is safe for just basic air cooling. I am running a Arctic cooling Freezer 7 pro and currently it idles at 39 celsius on my ASUS P5ND2-SLI DELUXE motherboard. I want to push it a little more to hit 4ghz or more but I do not want to go to far with the voltage. I know a lot of people have these pentium D 805 chips so anyone with the same chip please let me know what kind of voltages you run 24/7 safely with air. Thanks!

    HI,

I have that chip and have pushed 1.6v to it before but run 24/7 with 1.5 in bios on my P5W DH Deluxe although AiBooster, Pc Probe 2 and cpu-z all say I am running at 1.47v. My idle temp is 35c to 36c and full load is 59c. I am at 4.0Ghz. I have been at 4.1 but sometimes crashes at desktop during reboot.

the question what is safe - well i dont know.

    started after install:
    805D - 1,3375v in bios - @ 3,6ghz - idle 41c/load 56c - room 27-30c
    currently :
    805D - 1,4000v in bios - @ 3,7ghz - idle 42c/load 59c - room 27-30c
    tested:
    805D - 1,4750v in bios - @ 3,9ghz - idle 46c/load 60c - room 27-30c

when temperatures in germany drop to normal i will run @ 3,9ghz
dunno if i go for 4ghz as i guess it will need more than 1,5v in bios
    to get it stable.

I wouldn't worry about going upto 1.6v through 90nm. Odds are it will become unstable from the added heat of cranking up the volts and you wont reach the 1.6v.

I believe VCore is not so much the issue with aircooling as most (if not all) aircoolers (and not good ventilated closed cases) will not cope with the heat generated from a overvolted 805D.
That said.. 1.4 to 1.475 is OK as long as full load temps stays under 70 degrees under *prolonged* dual load (Prime-testing or similar).
On my 805D even good watercooling will not keep the load temp under 60 when running at 4.0Ghz @ 1.475VCore.
BTW:Boards with Bios's showing below 40 idle and below 60 full load is rather optimistic I'll say.
(the latter statement is for stock cooler & stock vcore.. or good air cooler and vcore > 1.45)

Well I don't want to burn it up so I guess I will just stay with 3.75ghz for now. Considering I got the motherboard for $35 on Ebay and the chip for $100 I still have a pretty fast machine for how much I have invested in it. It is a lot faster than my old athlon 64 3200+ setup.

Well, I guess the difference may be that I lapped my cpu. It was not flat by a long-shot. It was high on all the outside edges and low in the center. This makes for poor contact to your cooler.
Right now my room temp is 33c and my 805D with 1.5v vcore is idle at 40c
I only hit 60c at load
