    ASUS A8N-SLI Dlx BIOS1014 HTT 280++

    Looks like the new BIOS is the cure to our ills with the A8N-SLI Dlx...
    It's still not a SLI-DR but it's a step

    ANd it's 282 MEMORY SPEED, not just 282 HTT, previously there was a known bug limiting OC to 240, 1:1...

    C

    And yes, it's SP2004 stable for more than 33 seconds I just wanted to spread the news!

    Good to know! Too bad there still isn't anything that can quite compete with the DFI (not that I mind--I love my DFI)

    Does it look like you can get more out of it than 280?

    With the 1013 it was capable of doing more than the 240 fsb.

    I tested it but not on 1:1

    yay, i doubted they would ever get this fixed, especially after putting out the even more deluxe heatpipe etc boards.

    Is there no way of increasing the voltage? I building a system for a friend and I darn't use a DFI for him with the unreliability etc, I use one myself but the poor guy wouldn't have a chance if it needed the CMOS resetting the DFI way and I live 15 miles away.
    I want a good quality board that I can pre overclock for him so it's reliable.
    Would this fit the bill??
    Thanks..

    use a fixed resistor for a .15 offset to the voltage, so 1.5 volts, is really 1.65 volts...

    so if you want 1.4 volts again, you just set it to 1.25 volts in bios.
    thats what I would do, with this board...

    (in case someones gonna ask, no I don't know the volt mods for this board, just saying, this is what I would do, to deal with the low voltages for X2's)

    @Charlie
    Have you checked that the htt is not locked to 3x?
    I know that with that Ai Overclock program one could see that multiplier from winXP.
    Ever since 1002 bios my a8n dlx mb has had a looked htt multiplier. But at some never version (may have been 1012 or 1013) they changed from locked 5x to 4x. That changed my max to about 240mhz htt from 22xmhz. Could you check if that it isnt just locked to 3x or lower? I have only succeded with changing it when using bios 1001 but then i can reach about 310mhz htt (with mem divider ofcourse).

    Sorry if my english is not as good as it could be.

    Great to hear that as I bought an A8N SLI deluxe this week without knowing about it's bugs (got it very cheap, that's why). Then I read about the problems and got a bit scared.

    But now that you prove what I was already hoping, it's all OK. Really happy to see that Asus finally got the big probs fixed with a new bios.

    It's an OK board... for less than HUGE OC's... it's fine
