Nice, but I don't want to tamper with it quite yet. Anybody else who flashes to it keep us updated.

Sounds excellent, maybe I'll give it a go tomorrow or maybe I'll wait to hear about your findings..... Any info on whether the "cold boot bug" is gone in the 0509 bios by chance?

No, I found out myself.... Everything else loooks fine though. And 640 owners can now use 14x multiplier through EIST it seems, at least it now has the "minimum" option present.

Performance seems on par with or slightly better than 0422, and oc ability has not been diminished as far as I can tel from just running a few benches.

It won't boot when you first turn it on. you have to hit the reset button, it just freeezes at the AI Life screenie. It reboots just fine, it's just when it's been turned off for a while that it won't boot straight up. It's not temperature related, at least afaik, so your Vapo LS won't make it any different from air/water colling setups in that regard.

I think the cold boot problem is when you restart the computer, it shutdowns for a few seconds before booting up again.

I don't have this problem with the original bios 0304. However, new bios like 0408, 0422 have that problem. And the newest 0509 doesn't fix this problem yet.

for many it is the shutdown/restart issue....but also when you hard boot from OFF....none of it is really that big of a deal only an annoyance....i wonder if the cap mod fixes the cold boot problem....i've got the caps sitting here, i'm just not sure about voiding my warranty on a new board.

I was worried about the LockFree issue, but got a P5WD2 last week anyway. To my surprise, I had an Enable option for LockFree in the stock BIOS (304) with my 550.

Do any of the newer BIOS files increase the MCH max voltage at all or is the volt mod the only way?

This is slightly OT...does anyone know that the LS will properly mount to the P5WD2?....i'm concerned about the chokes/caps near the socket.

Besides annoyance, I don't think it's good for the hard drives also.

Same withthe P5ND2-SLi Deluxe, overclocking only works with 2 out of 10 BIOS releases. Sad at best.
God of all that is SFF.

Nope, probably not. And my mach II GT really doesn't like it either, it usually has a 3 min. restart delay, but because of the bug it shuts down and starts right up again every time I reboot the system

No, not with the Mach II GT unit. It's a pretty tight fit, but it fits perfectly.

Where do you get this new bios from as far as being the official Asus version and not from a German website, its not on the Asus support website for P5WD2 bios as of todays date.
I'm not 100% certain but I think maybe the O422 bios is giving me problems when going for high FSB O/C with 5xx cpu
Signature? are you kidding? with new stuff coming out every day, why bother ?
