Need some help with the P5E (DDR-2)

Just got my P5E and it's working fine but I have two problems.

I'm on 0203 BIOS (latest) and I can't install AI SUITE software. Installer programm always tells me "not for this chipset or to update the BIOS"... - but there is no later BIOS for this board.

I picked the latest AI SUITE version for P5E straight from ASUS site......

Second problem is temp reading in BIOS, I'm on water and BIOS tells me 15°C IDLE - at 21°C room temp....... IMPOSSIBLE!

Ran the same CPU with the same WC setup on P5K Deluxe before and temps in BIOS were ~28°C IDLE.

So should I try the older BIOS 0107 or is there any other trick to make things work......???

Try installing the Asus updater first, before installing AIsuite. You can also try grabbing PC Probe single installer and try installing that first. I think the installer looks for a specific file which if it's not present on your computer, it throws up an error.

What does coretemp read in windows? Go with that.

THX for Your care Zucker - will try tonite. As reported in other threads coretemp causes fatal crash on this board - can't use it.

No go - installed ASUS UPDATE but AI SUITE still buggy - no chance for install.

Got PROBE II installed, but incorrect work. Task manager shows the process running but I see nothing happen at all.........???

Beta version of coretemp works fine but still reads wrong temps:



28°C under full load with 21°C room temp is impossible, even with only 1.088 Vcore and WC setup........

Last chance is new BIOS 0303 - will try now.

Now with BIOS 0303 - AI SUITE still badly bugged........

PROBE II is working now.

Temp reading is really confusing now - maybe coretemp is the closest... :



Think I have to give ASUS SUPPORT a phone call tomorrow.
