no SLK-900U on a DFI Infinity, what now?!
the Thermalright website says that all their heatsinks aren't compatible with the DFI Infinity mobosbut SOME heatsinks of them ARE compatible with a DFI Lanparty... aren't they lan partys exactly the same as the Infinitys but then they got more onboard stuff and cost a little more? I thought all socket-A mobos were compatible with socket-A heatsinks?
plz have an answer to this

You might have to cut a bit of a corner off the backing plate of the SLK series so the motherboard mounting screw will be able to reach to the motherboard mount (part of the corner gets in the way)... thats all I had to do to mine to get it to fit my 8rda+, anyways.

well the website says it IS compatible with the 8RDA+ so is there a differents in positions of the holes or something?

it definately isnt compatable with 8rda+'s without that corner getting cut off...
Could be capacitors nearer the heatsink on the other board.

lol I found out why... the DFI board doesnt have any holes surrounding the CPU socket
Im now searching for a heatsink that can be attached to the socket... any suggestions?

... the dfi does have holes ... their just too close to some smd components
The Infinity / LanParty B have mounting holes.
Buy the 900U
If you don't want to modify the X-Plate ..then get the SLK-900A
I'm using my old SLK-900A on an infinity right now.
It's hard to get the first side of the clip (the one that goes on first, the one without the screwdriver slot) onto the socket lugs because of my fat fingers but there's plenty of clearance once that clip is hooked on.
And all infinities have the mounting holes. Be careful using the holes because you have easily crushable components very close to those holes.
The plural of "anecdote" is not "data."
