HD2900XT VRM Temps
I just got my liquid cooling onto my HD2900XT 1gb cards, and my core temps are awesome, but I'm worried about my VRM temps. I have Swiftech MC-21 mosfet sinks on the VRM chips, but Rivatuner reports the temperatures over 100c. With the gpu vcore @ 1.3v (1.2v stock) and the GPU @ 900mhz the VRM chips hit over 120c. The card seems stable with these temperatures, but they couldn't be good for the card. Unfortunately I never checked what the temps were with the stock cooler, so I have nothing to compare these temperatures to. Does anyone know what temperatures are safe? Could someone who knows an HD2900 tell me what they get?
Thanks,
Johannes M
PS: I tried opening my case and putting a 120mm fan blowing right on it, and it drops the temps to 86c. I haven't tried the 120mm with my case closed though, because I have tubes running out my case to my radiator, so I can't close it.
