in the opteron thread, 3ghz was hit, so far 4ghz stable.

I'm getting mine today or tomorrow, let you know by PM if you want. I generally do not like threads regarding steppings, the results are in the opteron thread.
In short, both AMD and NVIDIA discovered that their next-generation graphics cards are superior to each others' last-generation graphics cards.

0540 might as well shared by FX57 and an early FX59

Well, I'm more getting at the fact that the 0530APMWs were also sighted as FX-57s and are the best....IIRC, none of the other steppings have been sighted as FXs yet and they've proven to not be as good. 0540 may very well be a transistion week for the 59s, but these APMWs don't look like FX material so far.

    I have a 0516 WPMW and 0530 APMW FX-57....

Waiting on my BB mods's/Chilly1 VapoLS to fully test both chips. The 0530 was doing 3.5Ghz with +8C (P95) load temps at about 1.65V. Should scale to 3.6Ghz+ easily with -30C load temps...

Dude, that's EXACTLY what I'm alluding to (read my post after the one you quoted). All I want to know is if there are any FX 0540APMWs. Sorry if it was unclear, I realize the ellipsis didn't separate my thoughts well enough.

    George....thanks for the week info!

    toreide, you sound norwegian?Correct? I beleive i've seen u on hw-forum..
Well I'm from Norway anyway, live in bergen.
    Enough off-topic...
Toreide have u managed to get a hand of any opterons ? I saw komplett.no had 2 150's but those were abit expensive, and since it seems like europe are getting garbage steppings ( read: cabge ) i didnt want to order just yet.

From what I can see is that APMW is a strong stepping, the worst I saw with the 0540 was ironically enough computermsa's sample, which ran around 2850mhz stable. lets hope the APMW is the golden one, mine is here thursday!

Nonetheless, compare that to a Venice in terms of both price + performance!

Hi, I live in the same town as you

I have one of these CABNE0540APMW coming. I hope to have it this weekend.

I don't know if it can beat my SD wich I'm still not finnished playing with. I think some eXtreme cooling would be fun as it boots at 3.1 @ 1,67v
