asus p5wdh deluxe OC mem problem

    i got a p5w dh deluxe with a e6600 c2d [watercooled]
my memory is OCZ platinum ddr2 800[400x2 fsb].
i have my c2d overclocked at 400 fsb.
with these options i need to enable spd timing or the pc will not turn on.
    using cpu-z im getting timings at 5-6-6-18-24 [ cas-ras delay-ras precharge-tras-trc].
i would like to buy memory with timings but i dont know what will work well with my mobo. ive been doing some reaserch and found that G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231065
would load at the correct timings, but i also found some forums claiming that it would not. i need to know if this memory would load correctly?
if not tell me what can
what memory would work well with my setup???

I can assure you that any of the following kits work perfectly ( and with manually set timings of course ) with the P5W DH Deluxe:
    1) OCZ PC2-6400 S.O.E. Urban Elite
    2) Corsair Dominator 9136C5D
    3) Corsair Dominator 10000C5DF
    4) Super Talent T1000UX2G5
    5) GeIL Ultra PC2-9600
    6) OCZ Reaper HPC PC2-9200

Every single kit that I mentioned can do that

need more memory options. my watercooling gets in the way of the heatsinks that these memory provide [except for the GeIL Ultra PC2-9600 but the voltage is too high]
please post others if avalable? im looking for ddr2 800 and better, does it make a diffrence[notable] if the fsb:memory ratio is higher for the memory?

When I used the P5WDH I couldn't run the memory over 340 FSB with stability at anything but the lowest divider.. but with a p5b, or a ds3, it ran ddr950 4-4-4-9 at 46something FSB, and worked fine. It's one of the reasons I sold the board.

However, the 965p worked way worse in memory intensive applications at the high memory speed, and a higher CPU than 975.. guess it's a constant compromise.

All we can suggest if you own the board is to check the download page periodically to see what is available.

I couldn't run my P5W at 400FSB with 1066Mhz ram , I love my OCZ 8500SLI kit, ran fab on the P5W as did the Gskill 6400 HZ ram...

Aso take note that my P5W died even with MCH voltage at only 1.55 and added fan on the NB... The latencies are so tight on the 975 chipset that it seems to degrade rapidly when pushed with FSB and voltage.. ( talking more than 6 months here but my board just stopped booting all of the sudden , RMA same issue in the long run , RMA'd again and now keeping it at 333FSB...)
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

the highest i can reach[cpu] is 374fsb without having to enable SPD.
am i better off leaving the cpu at 374fsb with better memory timings??

Plz verify the settings of my P5W and compare them with yours....

Your timings are 4-5-4-15 for ddr 800 2.1 volts

    Ram - > 2.1v or 2.2

vMch - > 1.65 or more if you want higher FSB.

i copied everything that you [Leeghoofd] posted. right now the settings are the same as the pics on this thread [except for spd enable and memory voltage at 2.2v]

have you tried eg 5-5-5-15 ? and try to boot then ? damn my Gskill HZ worked fab at 4-4-4-10 even , but my max FSB was at 435MHZ or so while others reached 450 with the same board...

Maybe it's just a ram /mobo incompitability but some other users also have issues booting above 370FSB wtih SPD on manual... Gskills worked, OCZ SLI too but not at 1066Mhz had to run them at 800mhz, some divider issue....
