Need some help OC Q6600 with a P5N32-SLI Plus

    Hi,

I'm a n00b with overclocking so maybe someone can help me.

I want to oc my Q6600 to 3.4Mhz, now its running stable @ 3Ghz
The only thing i have changed are :

    Memory 4,4,4,12,2 @ 2.2 Volt
And change the fsb to 1333 and set it unlinked

    System specs

Asus P5N32-E SLI PLus bios 0803
    Q6600 @ 3.0GHz
    Coolermaster Hyper 212
    2x 1gb Corsair Dominator pc6400 ( 4,4,4,12,2 )
    XFX GTX260
    Thermaltake Toughpower 600 Watt

Only thing to do is to drop multi to 8 and to use 425FSB... keep the ram at 850Mhz ( even loosen timings eg 5-5-5-15 2T , Tref 45 )
Quads put a lot of strain on the poor 680I chipset and we noticed that 425 FSB puts less strain on the NB then eg 400FSB

NB voltage could be as high as 1.45, 1.2HT:1.45, CPU VTT 1.45, SB 1.55... keep that NB well cooled plz
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Yeah I just got mine stable on 3.2 and I am having trouble anything over that on my 680i.

If I get it stable on 3.4 or I am aiming for 3.5 or 3.6 I will let you know my settings.

You should be able to lower the vcore a little more into the 1.3v area so that will keep your temps a little lower unless you are going higher. I tried 3.6 and it lasted for about 45min and then freezes on me so I just gave up 3.2 is fine for me.

Also I right now I have my Vcore on 1.400 but I plan to see how low I can get that. Ill let you know.

Idle I am at 30C ish a little lower
then in Prime on real temp and core temp my highest temp is (real temp - 44C) (Core temp -45C)

But I am having a problem with IntelBurnTest not passing. Right away it fails so I dont know what is going on there.

Do you use a liquid cooler?
    Realy nice temps!!

With Prime95 no reboots, but IntelBurnTest crashes... hmm try to change youre Vcore to 1.45 Volt
And try IntelBurnTest again, if its running good lower the Vcore.

No its all air just in the antec 900 and I moved the back fan to the side and it is now an intake fan. Has cooled it much better then hving it as an exhaust and then I have the Tuniq 120 and its doing a good job.

And ok Ill try that it keeps saying i failed the Lanpack test, but I do not know what that means lol Im still a newbie to all this.

I just ran it for 45 mins and no errors, but I am going to let it go all night tonight and see if it can go through the whole thing.

EDIT--- I just ran that memtest all night for over 12 hours and I only got one error which is good cause I think what caused it was me letting it go to sleep. (forgot to turn that off hehehe)

I got it to 3.5 and its stable. Im so happy going to stress test over the night and see how it holds up but so far its held up playing TF2 and Far Cry2 and temps are staying in the 30s. Im happy I didnt think I could get it to stay on 3.5 but it is working so far so we will see how the stress test goes tonight.

Well it is set at 1.5v right now I am trying to get 3.6 thats my new goal. If I can get that stable Ill be done. Right now I have it set on 3.6 and its working fine, but I havent tested yet. So we will see.

I dont think my RAM likes it at 3.6 cause at 800mhz they seem to get angry at me lol. So I may have to get some new sticks I dont know yet we will see.
