Raju, you are the man. Please let us know if this bios will actually boot without turning around 3 times and chanting "please boot"![]()
From the site:
If users do not have floppy drive in their computer system, Please update BIOS by using Winflash Ver. 1.84 and In Winflash Ver. 1.84 program, please click on "Update all" in "update options" area and"Clear CMOS" in "CMOS options" area.
Major Reasons of Change:
1. Improving overclocking performance on CPUDR bus ratio 1:1 and 4:5 .
2. Open more DRAM timing and drive strength control parameters in "DRAM Timing and configure " page.
3. Fix SATA hard disk can't be hot plugged after remove once.
4. Remove Easy O.C. function.
5 . Remove O.C. fail control.
Sure it comes out when I have another board on my bench. Maybe I can make a little room ...![]()
Sourcing parts for a mildly over clocked abacus.
Why did they remove the OCfailControl? that was one of their good features...

Tell us your result in OC it can break Asus P5WDH Deluxe!Originally Posted by raju

weird, how do i get to tat bios pgage without the direct link?
essentially it's 823 bios, with a new bootup setting, that's all, oc's remain as they were from 816 onwards.
the settings for bios remains as they were in the 816 guide I posted here. As an addition try setting read delay to 7.
FWIW this board never boots happily at 370+, there's always a few clicks at that fsb before it will beep to post, just the way it 'works' I guess.
Even with these new settings in bios that Oskar has provided the boards max fsb remains the same, though if you're moving up from 731 bios, you should get a nice ram speed boost due to the 1:1 and 4:5 dividers working at 370fsb. Interestingly this board is still one of the quickest in terms of ram bandwidth at that fsb, so for stable 24/7 air overclocking of an e6600 or e6700 it's not a bad choice at the price.
Most importantly, get another bios chip before using these newer beta's. If it does not work you'll at least be able to plug in your old working bios...

i'll hold on to 8/23 until of any better results from this bios. I havent had any problems with 8/23 so unless they have improved anything aside from bootup issues, ill stay here for now. For now i am running my ram at DDR948 at 378FSB and im pretty pleased.
