Arrow 5GHZ Barrier Broken...5081Mhz Mach 2 GT cooled

Got the chip today...havent had time todo stability testing....only 3 hours of prime at 4.3ghz

my ram 3700EB is getting tested by ocz so i am using my mates sticks which i borrowed...

    Max screen using clockgen...

    and my copy-paste-paint skills

    crashed later on...

only testing so far...look at the CPU temps lol 1C

    upping the Vcore didnt help....

    the chip is running hot...-8C @ 4.3ghz 1.5V whereas my 3.4C at 1.7V @ 4.3ghz was running -22C...under prime

the board is about to explode the mosfets are burning hot...the back of the mach 2 CPU kit where the heater is has never ever been so hot before...i can barely touch it hehe...One of the heatsinks in the mosfets fell off...it had dodgy thermaltape that one anyways and fell off another time too....ehhe

getting some OCZ heatsinks to treat my mosfets anyways...the clockgen isnt hot at all but the mosfets ouch...

Its an OEM chip so no box came from the US even though they are available in Europe
I got warranty with it from the guy i bought it with though so its a +

compressor temps have reached 72C on the back at the mo from 68 and 55C on the front from arround 48C hehe evap tem -44C priming at 4.3ghz as i said.

    priming temps

Hey I got one too today!

It is now stable at 4425! God it is HOT!! It stoped at 4502 with above 0 degree !!! My vapochill LS couldn't handle it finally !!

I felt it is a great chip, just need more power on cooling system...

    Here is mine, still prime95ing

it is burning hot...ordered 3 packs of OCZ bga ramsinks...hopefully to cool down those mosfets a bit...lol

cos the coolermaster ones i got are burning hot too and are too small....

One of the mosfets that is trapped in the hermetic cell...with the seal strint covered has made the seal tring so warm lol...its cooking...

    exingh

is that the P4C800E you got?

man i am priming at 4425ghz now@ 1.488-1.5V...its been couple of hours alread and my cpu temps havent dropped to lower than -7C...that is with my mach 2 GT fan at normal operation..-44C evap temps

your vapo LS is giving you a -3C then? i gotta wait at least 12 hours till i up the fsb so that i can have an idea if my rig is stable...lol

my ocz cant cope with more than 260fsb 3 3 3 8 lol..so i think fingers crossed i will be looking for better ram....

i got no brackets etc...+ i got some coolermaster ramsinks over them already which are burning hot to the touch...compressor temps are high too...

i am thinking even the ocz bga ramsinks wont do a lot to them...think its time to quit prime testing lol

    Yes, it is P4C800E D.

It seems stable at 4425 with 1.55v, but I couldn't go any higher than 4502, no matter how much the vcore I set (max 1.950v). And it was 0 degree idle at 4502, -35 evap temp!! +5 degree at load, -35 evap temps (superPI) !! I think this also proved Mach II is better than LS!!

the -3C on the picture was actually not stable, it changed between -3 and 0 during priming.

I got my ram up to 276 3 4 4 8 with my norhwood 3.0... but it is also very hot even with ramsinks on... I guess I have to get a fan to cool it down.

yes i have done the droop mod mate and the Vdimm..

in fact i was upping the Vcore trying to get to 4.9ghz...but if you see my last attemp for nearly 4.9ghz i am using 1.55 i think...it didnt help upping the vcore from what i noticed...

will have to check again though....

    Thanks man.

My chip is weird, I tried to boost it at 1.6v with 260FSB so that I could up the FSB using SETFSB, but I couldn't, even with 250. Then I set it back to 1.55v, it boosted perfectly ! Any ideas how this happened?

cos selecting 1.6V in the bios gives you 1.66V

thats with every P4C800E i have used...then i modded mine and this is my 4th board.2 died from condensation...then i had to send mine to mate...ang got a new one cos i had no time to mod his...anyways yeah @ 1.6V bios you get 1.66v...then selecting anything else it goes back to normal...

Yes that 1.6V selection in the bios throws 1.66V in the cpu instead of the 1.6V

So perhaps it was too much for the prescott

i think they cant take more than 1.6V from the board or something...which doesnt affect them when the droop mod is done?

I was searching about this but was unuable to find a clear answer....

Tried 1.7v and 1.75v, no luck, guess you are right man, it is too much for the prescott, at least it was for my chip. Also tried with another prescott (Celeron D 335), same thing. It couldn't work over 1.6v neither.

I had a weird experience with my 3.0c, don't know if you can help me. I have a northwood 3.0, I got 4G at 1.95v with chilled ( around 0C) water cooling. When I changed to Vapochill, it couldn't boost at 1.95v. I lowered the vcore to 1.75v, it boosted...then I changed back to chilled water cooling, it again had to be 1.95v to boost , any ideas?... Thanks in advance.
