    Countdown to 500 threads added

Thought i'd start one of these threads to keep track of what people are adding in the name of XS. Always a lot of fun and its a real accomplishment when ya have to start a new topic cause the first one reached 0 hehe.

    So i'll start.

Only my desktop at the moment.

My x3350 was having stability issues, and is also used as a media server, so i've suspended all DC on it until I have time to reformat or troubleshoot. I suspect the Ballistix has gone bad.

Others quads owned by friend have just not yet been setup, one i7 build is in the works.

    So, for now...

You do realise this is probably going to go into the negatives fairly quickly once some of the big farm owners start posting

    For me, currently 2 Q6600's.

I could be wrong here but I get the feeling that the OP wanted us to list NEW threads we are adding to the cause, not existing hardware.

What about if I added hardware but it was also because I retired some hardware

Although I'm fairly close to breaking even, retired several single cores but have replaced with quads Once I get the last two up and running I will have actually added to what I used to do

Well, lets say you went from a q6600 to a i7-920, i'd say just add 4. But honestly, who cares. It's mostly meant for fun haha

Hooked a i7 920 to the grid. That counts as 8 threads? Or cores?

OK, it took me a bit to figure out what we were supposed to be doing here. So in light of that, I will ADD my existing cores to the total, and to compensate to the OP's intentions a bit.....

    New Number, 476

Where the 32nm stuff? I should be able to subtract when that comes out....

    Bob

    DANG, too slow typing again....

The Op wanted us to subtract only for new cores added.....See the first few posts following the original. I didn't get that until I read further.

Since some cores were existing and were subtracted, I kind of figure if I ADD my existing cores, it kind of brings it somewhat back into balance....Yes? This is in reference to Karl's post.

We could start over, but IDK, fuzzy math is kind of fun too....

Yeah, but...you haven't posted yet here. At all. So if you haven't changed the countdown by subtracting anything, then your existing crunchers haven't been counted at all - so there's no need to add anything to the number. If it's counting down how many new threads were added, there's no need to be adding for threads that have been active all along

I think he meant only threads added from this point on. Then again, if you want to do fuzzy math, I'm not stopping you
