Which stepping is your opteron man?
    F3 of F2 ?
use cpuz or if you have the box look for CZ or CS on the part number.

    Edit********
Drop the multy and see how high the board can go,my Infinity can't really go above 400
That is all I get out of it,so don't get your hopes up

Did you try to look around on DFI forums? If you had a lanparty nf590 like I do, then I would say that the board is stoping you, but I always thought infinity could easily make it to 400. So I dont know where the problem could be, the rams maybe?

    I don't have the same board,so I can't give you a
detailed step by step guide. However these settings
would be universal, for the 3ghz that you want.

1.Set "HT multi" to 3 (could be called "CPU to NB ratio") There should be values from 1 to 5 there.

2.Set HT (FSB) to 334Mhz (Values from 200~500)

3.Set DDR2 RAM to the lowest ratio, should be DDR 400Mhz(NOT 800), or 1:1

MAKE SURE that all power connectors are plugged in,specially the 4 pin
Floppy type connector (could be near VGA slots)
    ***************************************
These you might or mighnt not need, the above are
    mandatory (you need it)

    4. Add 0.1-0.2v to the North Bridge or whatever
DFI decided to call it that time. Mine is called "core"

Remember though that just cause its an F3 Opteron, doesnt mean you will be able to hit 3GHz. It is entirely possible you have a bad chip that wont do more than 2.8 or something. The CCB8F steppings seem to be the best air clockers that can hit between 3GHz and 3.4GHz. If you dont have an 8F, there is a chance you wont be able to hit 3GHz at all. I am currently running a CCB6F that hits 3GHz really easily (334fsb x9 multi, 1.35 vcore), but it cant seem to get any higher than 3.05GHz no matter what I have tried. Higher voltage doesnt do anything, higher voltage to NB core and HT doesnt get me anything, higher or lower RAM divier doesnt do anything. So it is entirely possible you simply have a MHz wall at around 2.7GHz on your chip.

Kinda sucks for me because I upgraded to a DDR2 setup with an Opteron hoping I would be able to get the same or better speed than my 939 setup. The Opteron 165 on my 939 topped out at 3.3GHz on air cooling, this newer stepping with better components tops out at a slower speed than my old one But at least the higher performance PCI-Express 2.0, faster RAM, and the addition of SAS hard drives makes up for the MHz I lost in core speed.

    @Socketman
i will check the power connector, but i think i never saw the floopy connector in my mobo

Just set RAM to 2T, the rest AUTO for now if it gives you problems:for that speed (ddr400) the 4 4 4 12 timings are fine
It basically a "safe" setting-- just so we know that RAM is not the problem
    here is the "floppy connector"
I am pretty sure thats were "the trouble" is ,if it's not connected
It looks like a white fan header, right on top of the 1st PCIe slot
I circled it red, MS- Paint FTW

hei socketman..remember me? just got F3 1210...i've similiar prob with barong..i cant get further than 334..max is ~340..but i think the prob is my mobo,+3,3v only got 3v..

is it becoz of the mobo?or its limited by my proc?or stock cooling?

    -edit-
in order to get 334 i need 1,5v vcore..and icant get further even i raised vcore to 1,6v..

It means the BIOS settings are messed up
    Nothing major

Press and Hold the "INSERT" button on the keyboard, then press the power button (keep holding the "INSERT"

    If it doesn't work then:
Unplug the power cord and clear the BIOS with the jumper

    good luck

    Hey Man

    He is "stuck" @ 300 (9x300=2700)
Does yours work @ 333x9 ? Thats what he wants I think
I followed my own advise from that thread and got the 1210, got lucky to find an F3 in here

    *********************************************
Set RAM to the lowest (DDR400) 1:1
Set the CPU Multiplier to 5 or 6
leave the CPU volts on default (1.5-1.6 is too much for the CPU @ 334x9=3006
then try to increase the HTT (FSB) and see how far it goes
If you get stuck at the same place (334 or so ) then it's the board
    (the CPU is 340x5=1700)

Thats kinda odd Lamby, my 1210 will not go past 340fsb and seems to have difficulty going past 334 as well. Mine works much better though, its an HE version and only needs 1.35 to get to 334fsb, but it takes 1.5v to go up to 340, and any higher it wont boot. I assumed it was my MB, even though my board is known to get to 500fsb. But perhaps it is my processor not wanting to go above 334fsb :'(

I tried to add some RAM to the board that has the 1210 opteron:
took out the 2x1048- 8500- Ballistix Tracers, and put in 2x2048 Ballistix
and the board (cfx3200-M2/G) wont POST.
was set 336X9-RAM-1:1. Get a single long beeeeeeep
Put the tracers back-can boot @ 9x366 easily
Try using different RAM sticks if possible, you never know.
BTW what "beep" (if any) do you guys get ?

One HELL of a job you have
    Take a break

Anyhow it looks like my board DFI cfx3200M2/G will only boot
at 300HTT or higher with 8500 Tracers, I've tried 2 other kits no go.
Even thou the ram was set to the lowest
