    LanpartyUT 250GB - Stopped POSTing

As posted on DFI-Street; really want to get this fixed asap so i can get on with clocking :-

Had this board since yesterday, one of the lucky few in the UK that got one.

I was happily going at 255mhz FSB with the 9/14 modded BIOS for 4v vdimm (was using 3.2v fine). Had installed windows fine at stock speeds. After a reboot it shut down and wouldnt come back on again. The fans rotate for 2-3 rotations before going back off again.

I can only get it to switch on if i unplug the 4pin connector. The fans then stay on but the board still refuses to POST.

    Have tried:-
    - 12-hour CMOS clear
    - 256mb Corsair XMS3500 or 512 OCZ 3700EB in it.
    - Booting without memory fitted
    - TNT2 or Geforce4 in it.
    - Booting without GFX fitted
    - Removed HSF and chip then reseated.
    - 300W generic PSU
    - Outside of case and inside case

    Specs:-

    3000+ Claw CG 512k cache
Thermalright SB-2 w/92mm YSTech plugged into 3-4pin convertor.
    256 XMS3500 or 512 OCZ 3700EB
    Geforce4/TNT2 M64/9800SE AIW
    IBM 60GXP 60GB
    Pioneer Slot Loader
    OCZ Powerstream 470w

Which BIOS were you using? I was on the 9/14 modded one, with 4v vdimm. Was using 3.2v at the time, anything over that made the board trip into thinking i was using an IDE RAID array and scan for drives, at which point it would reboot.

    Angry

Ive found the problem. My nose helped But its bad.

Theres a burnt trace and what looks like a missing resistor on the board between the 4th and 5th PCI slot I will take a photo when my housemate gets up.

Definately an RMA job Absolutely gutted.

    Sorry man!

What makes you think it was the high Vdimm that caused this?
How high was your 3,3V rail at the time?

    3.2v

It burnt out while in the case on standoffs, i had it on a desk before then (made of wood).

I cannot actually believe this - there i was waiting for RMA confirmation. I got it around 4pm so quickly went to buy a box and some brown tape to put the board in, so i could get it in todays post.

£5 spent later i come back and bubble wrap the box and put a box around it, write the RMA number all over it and start writing the address.

Only to find the office was quite literally 500 yards down the road from where i live!

Popped down and actually went up to the office, had a quick chat with the chap who was suprised to see one of these boards so early in the UK. The good news is i should be getting a replacement board early next week

I was thinking that when i spoke to the chap; RMA's are despatched direct from Holland; the office up the road from me is just a satellite office.

After stupidly cancelling my second preorder from CPUCity, some kind chap pimped his site to me indicating he had stock (2 infact), so ive bought another one anyway
