    missing windows file

    hey guys i fired up my computer and says i need file <windows root>\system32\hall.dll ...........if sumone could send me that file so i can load it in would be awsome....

    yeah ive tried to boot from the windows xp cd and it doesnt do it just goes to where it says i dont have that file, and i cant get into bios...ive tried for lke 10 min and didnt work

    happened to me on my a8v deluxe.. had to get a new hdd

    do you have either another computer or another HD? if so you can use the other computer/hd and make the broken HD a slave. then boot the new computer/HD and copy the file to where it needs to be. i have done it before. it takes some time. other people may have an easier way to do it so keep checking.

    If you can't get into your system BIOS, then a HD isn't going to fix your problems. You might try removing some of your RAM. Bad memory will cause XP install to fail.
