    wikipedia knows all...

Yesterday I challenged some classmates in my programming class to come up with a term which wikipedia.org would not be able to find an entry or link for. So far, they've been unsuccessful. We even discovered there's a definition for asshat.

Wikipedia is the Google of encyclopedias!

They even let you edit definitions that are wrong (I took the liberty of correcting some false info about supposed dual core FX CPUs).

Take a look for yourself! http://www.wikipedia.org/

I know it doesn't have a definition for "cranch". Do I get a cookie?

The term comes from the short sf story "Scanners Live in Vain" by Cordwainer Smith. It is what the scanners do to give their bodies the ability to feel for a short period of time.

"Shayol" is also missing, the planet that convicts are sent to in his universe.
