Can't use level 1 or 2 drive strength with DFI LPUT

I can set everything to auto and 200MHz and give the memory any voltage but it still won't go past the the HD detection part of bootup. Using level 3 is the only way to get the system to boot, but that limits the memory speed severly. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there any way to fix it?

EDIT: oh yeah, I used to be able to use them without any problems.

4 doesn't even let the machine boot.

EDIT:I just tried it another time and it worked, but only to the same speeds as level 3. I need level 1 (Well, that is the only thing that has changed seince I used to hit high clocks so that's what I guess I need) to regain my old speeds.

It will do over 270MHz with level 1.

Flash the 9/14 beta 2 bios. And make sure your hd is in SATA port 4. Try that.

I have the beta 4 bios and I never touch SATA drives because of the crappy performance.

I'll go check out the beta 2 bios.

EDIT: why beta 2? Is there something special about it not listed in the updated coloum?

Damn that's lucky bh5. what board did you run it before on level 1? how can you tell it's level 1 without having the option in the bios? THe DFI nf3-ut was the first I ever saw with drive strength options. What sata drives have crappy performance? As long as the ports are locked they are much faster than ide. 3 and 4 lock fine.

It was on this same DFI here. In my first post I said that they used to run fine at level 1. I went through 6 sets of sticks looking for these.

I was overclocking far before SATA first came out when it did nothing related to it was locked and it severly limited your FSB. Many current mobos still have locking issues so I won't bother untill IDE gets phased off of mobos.
