    Question ASUS CROSSHAIR FORMULA VIII and 3900X more speed possible?

    Hi guys,

    I got some strange issues which I cannot explain.

    My first try with the ASUS Crosshair Formula VIII and the 3900X with outo oc (called TPU I and II in BIOS) was successful with 4200 stable but with lesser RAM Frequency than @stock -> about 2000.

    My next try was to use the BIOS settings (without auto oc) based on the TPU settings.
    I tried to use the D.O.C.P (it based on the true settings from the Ram @4000 and CPU@3800) @stock.

    After save the BIOS settings, the Mainboard runs in an endless Loop with Start and Restart (2-3 Seconds after Power-Up then Power-Out and the game repeats itself) .
    I cut the Power manually to get a safe boot and reset the settings.

    The settings are enlisted on the picture but all of them are set by auto except DRAM Voltage (1.3 instead 1.2).

    What could be the issue or what can I do to get more safe speed?

    What's the situation about this issue?

    Try changing the Boot Voltage for DRAM to 1.35, it is a separate setting from the normal DRAM Voltage (I would also set this to 1.35V)

    I have same setup with some changes - be mindful that unless you can clock your infinity fabric high enough you're introducing a ratio between the cpu and ram, what this means is that you could enable DOCP and then choose a lower clock speed (say 3600mhz) and tighten the timings, I think the max speed for general 1:1 with infinity is 3733mhz ram and 1866mhz fclk.

    My issue is that I can't find cool n quiet (or whatever the ryzen name for it is, I prefer the downclocking to reduce power when idling, any help would be useful - here's my bios settings:

    Considering your frequencies and power usage levels I doubt cool n quiet is an option, you could simply create another bios profile for low thread count apps and browsing. I run it like this on 3800x for gaming and browsing.
