good interview. but as far as the nvidia drivers being " optimized " by lowering LOD, you can do the exact same thing with ati/amd gpus with a tool called rivatuner. and thus futuremark is not responsible for what benchers do. maybe they could implement a LOD setting in the benchmarks and set each score with LOD setting in mind.

Yes and Not.
In a old interview (04/2003) with the magazine HWM, David Kirk, Chief Scientist at nVidia.
HWM: "So, what's the best benchmark for GPUs then?".
Kirk: "I think the best benchmarking software is all of the games that people play. The best should be the top 10 or top 20 games because that's representative of the user experience".
The easiest way to cheat is buying the developers, and if you implement some optimizations, no one can protest if the graphic quality seems to be the same with or without these. It's no coincidence that "NVIDIA: The Way It's Meant to be Played" bore during 2002. NVIDIA understood that 10 years ago, AMD/ATI only 2/3 years ago.
thank you for proving my point k404. i may have gotten the program name wrong, however i was correct with being able to adjust LOD settings. and thus it is not futuremark who allowed the " cheat " but infact the driver developers/benchers who enabled them.
so he admits to cheating? wtf
