    AM3+/FM2 - Cooler options.

Its been a long time since I ventured into the world of non stock cooling. I no longer overclock and my last high performance rig used watercooling. So for air cooling I need some help. This is for a 24/7 san device im rebuilding.

My build is around a mitx case and its going to run a fm2 cpu ~65w.

I need a cooler that does not break the bank and is silent. Cooling performance is a concern but its not the highest priority, however the case is very well ventilated. this is it as a matter of fact. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811345016

Now I need a cooler that is not gigantic as to interfere with the case or the first pci-e slot (used for a quad port nic)

In my list of things to considers are.

1 - Price, (dont want to spend 80bux on an air cooler I can get a sealed water loop for less than that)
2 - Size, nothing that needs me to modify the case or go nuts with fitment issues.
3 - Performance, if its going to perform less than stock its useless no matter how quiet it is.

So feel free to make suggestions.

Basically any heatsink will fit. I've see a D14 in one of these guys w/o modding the case. I own about 4 of these (building for ppl & such).

I can't think of anything better than a Hyper 212 evo or regular. $20 to $25 is about as cheap as you can go. Super quiet & handles an OC really well (so your temps should be very low). I had that HSF on a 5600k & it handled everything well with one fan.

If you have a window & want bling, enermax has some awesome fans that do crazy things with lights.
