    Been in both camps over the years so Not a fan fan boy of either one.

    Just going for a (Single) card right now and going to take all factors into account as want
    a card that will perform well for a few Gens as my 5770CF's have done.

    Should know in a couple weeks how the extra vram and interface works between the cards
    and direction I'm going.
    Was tempted to go for the 7970 or the 680, But glad I waited.
    $550.00 is my (Upper) limit on one or the other, So the 4 gig 680 may be out of reach for me anyway.

    Just want to see the (Valitated) facts before I pull the trigger.
    Be nice to get back to a single card again anyway!

    IMO watercooling = 7970
    Air Cooling = 680

    both are pretty equal clock for clock but the base clock is alot lower on the stock 7970 vs 680

    $479 on egg is nice too but the 680 right now is no where to be found
