OT: How do you think Ivy compares to Sandy with SS?

Ivy needs a LOT more cold to get the maximum mhz, I am maxed at 5.5 for any benching on IB. I used chilled water for SB, you could pretty much max out the chip with just a decent water setup.
Not sure I want to try colder, maybe dry ice, but I hate to have to buy a dewar.
You can see a big difference in the Cache and Memory bench in AIDA64 by lowering the LB setting, I guess maybe it is kind of like PL. I saved a few screens but Im back on my laptop now.

I really wish I could stand strong, and with a lifted voice say "what a bargain" about those Transcend JETram with same IC... But the thing is, they are the worst DDR3 sticks I've ever tried.... They replaced Vengeance on being most useless sticks..

Holy smokes batman! Put the 2x2 Ballistix in, set to 10-10-10-30-3T with 1.75V just to see if it would at least post 2400Mhz, and it does
Spi1m passed, but 4m failed. Changed timings to 10-12-12-28-2T and lowered Vdimm to 1.7V and it passed 4m. About to start 32m.

^ Much better timings! My Ballistix Elite will not boot at 2400 10-10-10
What vdimm? I was using 1.75v.

this kits i bought 2 of the elite are the worst i ever hard they where stable on hour then no more then yes horrible
i sold them both even my patriots (see my thread) do magic for 58 dollars

I have four of the 2x4GB Smart Tracer 1866s, and a set of the 2x2GB Elites, and a friend of mine has three kits of the 2x4GB Smart Tracer 1866s. Every single one of them will do 2200Mhz 9-9-9 stable on AMD, and 2133Mhz on Intel (because of tRC).
All of mine will do 2400Mhz 10-10-10 for Spi 1m as well. The 30nm Samsungs I got wont do 2400Mhz if their life depended on it, and best they do for me is 2275Mhz 10-11-11.

Mine (Tactical 1866) do 2200 9-9-9 stable (probably could do more) on Bulldozer and 2000 8-8-8 on Thuban.

What would you guys recommend for a safe 24/7 voltage? Im running around 1.65v to 1.67v with motherboard overvolt. Thanks, Adam

I have decided to buy Crucial memory kit, what I can see from their website they have Elite, Sport, Tracer and Tactical. What is the difference between these? Is PC1600 or PC1866 kits to prefer? Doesn't seem to be to big price difference.
The Elite has big black heatspreaders guess it out be the top of the line, the Sport bottom rung, Tracer or Smart Tracer i believe the older 1.65v stuff. and the Tactical Tracer is the the new 1.5v with the leds. Smart Tracer has leds also. I have 4x4gb of the 1600 Tactical Tracer running 2000mhz@1.65v timing is 9-9-9-27-2T but i am still working on that. But i am running a Amd 1100t and I dont feel my imc is all that strong. I think most of the new 1.5v stuff overclocks about the same, with the exception of the Sport. But I have only tested my current 4 sticks. Hope this helps, Adam

I would say the smart or the tactical, the PC1866 I would figured be binned a bit better. Maybe someone else while chime in with a recommendation also.

These sticks are pretty fun to play with for sub-1200MHz clocking with tight timings. I have two of the Ballistix Tactical DDR3-1600 C8 2x4GB kits that were about $37 each on sale a Fry's a few weeks back.

Not sure if it's been posted, but don't expect the tracer to light up on x79. They don't work - get the ones with the tall heatsink. I bought the 4xddr3-1866 4gb tactical tracers and am happy with them. I popped them in and keyed in 2133 9-9-9-27-1T-1.69V. One day I'll see what else I can do with them. It kills me that the lights and probe doesn't work though.

Yours lights up on x79?
There's also this: http://forum.crucial.com/t5/Ballisti...X79/td-p/89812
I would've returned them, but I would hate to get a lesser performing kit. And I did buy them on newegg.
