that would also be nice...speedier pot too

**cut the corners too since that is added mass that is too far from the heat source anyways?

Keep the mass, you want it all
Copper is very fast at conducting so that copper at a distance will still benefit, but to a lesser extent than copper at the source.
Remember, this is not necessarily fact, just my thoughts on the matter (i was too stoned during thermodynamics and mechanical materials to remember all this stuff).
What i'd really like to do is thermodynamically model this to test different designs.

    Hey Tim,
that would be interesting. Which software do you prefer for thermal simulations?
I am a student of mech. engineering, very interesting topic ;-)

    ok ok how about.

(Remember we talking about slim pots).

Lots of mass (as much as a little slim can) with huge holes for LN2 to buble away.

with two holes the load is forced between the middle piece of mass being constantly cooled by the side holes

you should try the slimpot on a 580...and tell me how it handles a 580 load.... :-))

I would go for smaller holes and more of them if you're mass limited.

you can also add speed&mass ..by widening(triangularly) the pot and using appropriate holes

    HUGE POT

    Ilove it

With slim pot Vivi, keep as much mass as possible in the pot because thats always gonna be your bottleneck with a slim pot. Once u figure out how much mass you can leave on a slim and still be quad compatible, then add enough surface area to give you the ability to pull down the container in temps when gpu load is at its highest.
Despite what some guys think, slim pots don't warm up uncontrollably when used in 4-way configs and 4-way type clocks/volts(1200-1300mhz core frequency)
all you have to do is torch the pots at -80c or so and they will have all the speed you can use for 4 580's. Dont forget that when you are tuning your pot, tune the pull down speed with surface area always using a torch, because that is how your slim will be benched.

Indeed, a slim pot can actually handle quite alot.
Just need some torching, and most of all a bit more attention than a fat one.

    1400+ 1.6v 3d11 done np : )
