    Nice little boards!
Decent built in graphics, a PCI-E slot for a soundcard.
Built in WiFi (.n standard, sweet!) is a great idea, also.

Sounds like a great home server mobo. Anyone know the power consumption of the 4200 series GPU? The K625 is rated at 15W. How does the CPU compare to the Atom?

It kills Atom because it is a Regor based 1.5GHz Athlon II X2.

nice but a lil bit too late.
Most of the people either build HTPC with Intel i3 chips or better wait for Llano or BullDozer...

why would you want an overpowered BD cpu, or Llano sized gpu, for an htpc?
this should do everything you need (other than gaming) while costing just a few dollars compared to the other options.

haha wicked, the whole board is heatsinks!

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

whod want to stick such a slow cpu in there though?
    id go for a 45nm athlon64 II x2 instead of a turion...

yeah that turion is faster than an atom, big f-ing deal, as if that would mean its fast
like yeah, a bikes faster than walking but you dont really wanna ride a bike to work around town, do ya?

Someone hijacked your account, that's what I belive.

Turion II X2 Neo = Athlon II X2, same performance for the same mhz.

Is not for a 24/7 1080p encoding machine or for a boinc contest. Besides HTPC, they have a real cpu that doesn't stutter in average cpu-intensive tasks.

Oh, and they offer two options if you don't want the "slow" TII Neo
    Athlon II X4 620 2.6Ghz @1.1125v | Foxconn A7DA-S (790GX) | 2x2GB OCZ Platinum DDR2 1066
    | Gigabyte HD4770 | Seagate 7200.12 3x1TB | Samsung F4 HD204UI 2x2TB | LG H10N | OCZ StealthXStream 500w| Coolermaster Hyper 212+ | Compaq MV740 17"

    Stock HSF: 18°C idle / 37°C load (15°C ambient)
    Hyper 212+: 16°C idle / 29°C load (15°C ambient)

Why AMD Radeon rumors/leaks "are not always accurate"
    Reality check

put phenom II on this too

why not thuban 1055t and lower volt to 95W

personally i'd buy athlon x4 which is sufficient for basic tasks

or just buy the 1055T that is 95W version
duel core is more than enough for almost anything an HTPC would be doing, but yeah i would go with a slightly less clocked quad for futureproofing

That chipset doesn't support multichannel pcm or hd audio bitstreaming through hdmi.
So, I'd prefer ion over this for htpc use.

this platform needs a 5350 mobile gpu or x16 slots to be appealing for those htpc enthusiasts (bitstream) but i think that it is very appealing to 95% of all htpc users due to the great video decoding which is ahead of intel and nvidia in terms of quality

however there is one major issue with these products: zacate is about to be launched in january which makes these platforms obsolete due to a faster igp; lower tdp; UVD3, bitstream over hdmi (5xxx series gpu) and a smaller footprint (more room for onboard components)

its the same heatsinks for the mobile and 95w versions. so one will require airflow or the other is just over-heatsinked.

i doubt the mobile one could pull in enough power to need that much aluminum. the mosfets would consume like 4 watts, and the NB might be a few aswell (i think its 9 watts?)
