picking up my new i7 930. which batch should i look for?

going to Microcenter today or tomorrow to pick up my new i7 930. i tried looking for threads that talk about 930's by batch but there doesn't seem to be any real concensus. looks like the 930's in general oc well but if there's a specific batch i should be looking for i'd appreciate suggestions.

    thanks.

I have a #3004B176, it runs stable at 4.0ghz at 1.184vcore load. 4620mhz 1.428vcore with ht disabled, seems the 930's are hot or miss.

too many batches to choose from, and even if someone mentions one or two batches, most likely you're not going to find it in the pile. and they actually let you go back there to pick your batch? i've never heard of this from any store.

If you are a regular at the store they will take the batch# with them to the storage room and search for you.

im using batch #3938b285, hits 4.4 with 1.31vcore..

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

I asked the rep if he oc's and of course he said yes, so i asked if he'd mind checking batches for me. took my list with him but my list was based on old batches so i just grabbed something random - 3014A268. I read somewhere that the newer batches aren't oc'ing as well, but I'll let you know as soon as I plug it in.

Hey man, I'm doing the same, I don't think they would carry older batches anymore.

Here's a quick list I got from hard forum:

strange, not one person has my batch.. havent seen it once on here, evga ,ocn , overclockers etc..

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?
