Does it matter which is the lead card?

Does it matter which is the lead card in crossfire? Should the best overclocking card be the main display card if you have the 2 same card but one overclocks slightly higher?

They both need to be at the same clocks so it doesn't matter as you are limited by the weaker of the two.

@ chickenfeed : clocks do not need to be the same on ati cards . None is downclocking to the other either .

I want to know too what is the best setup actually and if higher clock speeds are better to have on the 'main' card .

Not sure whats better when you actually utilize both cards. But for the occasional app that lacks cfx support you'd want the fastest one as main

    Fastest one as main.

Either way it will be like this:

    Frame 1 time: 4.6 ms
    Frame 2 time: 4.9 ms
    Frame 3 time: 4.6 ms
    Frame 4 time: 4.9 ms

...at least, thats the concept. reverse frames for lower clocked card as primary.

Non-crossfire games will utilize the primary card so I'd go with the faster one.
