    OC competition for teens? =)

    OC competition for teens? =)

Even though there may not be many teens on this forum, i just want to call them ( if any ), out for a little competition, either on air or water, just for fun to see what we have .

I myself am 14, ( not sure if there was a age limit ), and i really do enjoy building /working on computers.

Even though this is extreme systems, and no I haven't touched LN2 yet, I think that some may tolerate just a little bit of fun for the youngens.

    My specs:
    Over seas rig:
    Core i7 920 C0/C1 @ 3.9 206*19
    12GB Patriot C9 DDR3 1600
    Asus Rampage II extreme
    Corsair HX1000W
    Dual ATI 4870 512s at 805/1050

    US rig:
    Q6600 G0 VID 1.325 @ 3.4 ( not prime95 stable, but gaming stable )
    Asus Maximus II Formula
    Corsair dominator 4GB 1066 @ 1100+
    ATI 4870 512MB @ 810/1070

    All on air

Will post pics up soon, and please forgive me if i posted in the wrong section

EDIT: Just noticed the section said "Extreme Competitions, sorry for that =("

    Awesome idea there!

We'll be starting something really cool for kids + gamers in terms of "youth" overclocking. Combo of cheap hardware, benchmarking and gaming as part of the friendly competition.

We'll be posting some more about it next week!

But one thing for sure...no extreme cooling...

The first time my son did Dry Ice was when he was like 10 years old. Was a fun project; I actually signed up on XS just to get him a Chilly1 dry ice container...

At 11 he was doing LN2 the first time, but the thing was - I was always there with him, to help, guide and make sure nothing goes wrong. I would not want my son even with all his experience at this point to do anything extremely cold by himself. NO WAY

When we are talking non adults, we have to be held acccountable to what we advocate here. Xtreme Air and Water cooling are waaay cool too!

I'd be down for this! I'm 16, but not the BEST overclocker... never really got past volts/FSB. Good opportunity to learn!

@Cookiesowns: Those are some great rigs! Only 14?!?!?! :O

I'm 16 over here in Utah... Let me tell you! There is no overclocking enthusiasts it seems like in Northern Utah! I've been running some AM3 clocks on DICE for about 6 months now, Im just too lazy to submit them =D,

keep me posted, I'd love to have a teen competition!!

Still a teen here, first time on Dice was when I was 16. On the topic of a teen overclocking contest, I think it can only be a good thing for the community. I always enjoy seeing younger guys getting into the scene and think it's an awesome goal

Yeah, Vivi's like 13, not to mention Sampsa, who Vivi thinks is 15 or something. Masbo just turned 20 (or well... last year), so did elmor. It's not like you need to be a worse overclocker, just because of your age. Hell, ME4ME hasn't even hit puberty yet.

    I KNOW MASSMAN DISLIKES YOU.

16 here. I've already used DI/am using it. Not enough $ for LN2.

I have a few boards and many procs i have used under DICE/plan to. All s775 though. No DI on my main rig...yet.

    14 here too ;-)

    Started overclocking at 12...self learned.
I'd like this kind of competition.

    I run:
Phenom II 965 BE @ 4.1 Ghz on air
    2GB Crucial Ballistix @ DDR3-1800 7-7-7-20
    Gigabyte 890GX 890GPA-UD3H
2x WD Caviar Black 640GB in RAID 0
    2x Sapphire HD5770 VaporX in CrossfireX @ 1025/1400

16 here as well. Specs are in my sig. The highest I have gotten so far is a 920 @ 4.4GHz (HT off) on water, but I am looking to start DI and LN2 too.

I'd love to participate in an air/water competition. Since most of us are in school, maybe have it in early July between the time that school ends and people start moving to college?
    Regards,
    Chris

Does 19 year old can still be considered as a teens ??? if yes then i am in. We would need to choose a plaftorm that everyone can get for like 300$ max for everything and then bench on it.It could be a lot of fun and also have ranking by type cooling of cooling used. And we also put a maximun age limit of 20.

    Awesome for all the feedback

Quick question, what is everyone favorite game at the moment? We will have a benchmark challenge, which will also have a small gaming component added to it.
Let's see what first best person shooter ( online playable - deathmatch) would be.

Let's have some fun!!! Let's only make sure that Uncle Hipro5 is not going to try to crash the party. Wouldn't surprise me...
