Are you referring to "Drive Xpert Configuration" Under the Tools menu? If so, this PDF may supply the info you're looking for.

    Thanks!
There is no reason to try it first as the consensus here is that the stock chipset heatsink installation is terrible!

I gave you direct link to template that is partially changed to resemble defaults.
Here are the links to my old 4410/1680 settings. There is mistake in it obviously as you noticed, but I can't remember if it was a BIOS bug, or my writing mistake. Wait, I have pictures... My mistake, sorry, corrected.
Here are my old 4200/2000 settings, current 4200/2000 settings, and my new 4410/1680 settings under testing.
    Any advice is appreciated.
Now buy the board and join the club.

No tREF. That's it, everything is there in template. Maybe more in future BIOS releases.

the stock tim on the heat pipe assembly is really strange stuff and so many ppl have temp issues, I would change it for better quality compound.

Hey Splave.. I've been meaning to ask.. How is your chip in vantage and 06 man.. I noticed that some of the chips I have clock high but dont run benchies at high frequencies.. Others clock low but run benchmarks higher.. Its a weird thing really.. Just did a quick test on one... 5824mhz quick run on vantage.. Just wanted to know your experience on the 980x. Thanks man!! cheers!! -Beaux

Missing ram, just to update the board, I found the issue behind the missing 4gigs of ram. The CPU seat had 2 bent pins

I am surprised the machine would even post. So the racking of my brain over the past 3 weeks was this. I manage to slightly bend them back into place (not an easy feat if you are hung-over). But as you can see, it's working perfectly.

Also I would like to thank Dansobolanu from another board as he was going through the same issue and pointed me in the right direction. Cheers for now and the next round of beers are on me!

Windows 7 log in is fast again with my Vertex 2 SSD

With Gigabyte EX-58-Extreme it was all good but after getting the R3E it took about 30 second on "Welcome" screen !

I did a full erase of the SSD and installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 64Bit and everything seems perfect again (except for that damn must-be-3N-for-OCZ-Blade-DDR3 2000 crap and S.M.A.R.T : BAD for my SSD )

I will recieve Noctua NH-D14 tomorrow and read it was not compatible with OCZ Blade , is that true? what should I do now ?

Here's a question that hopefully somebody can answer for me.

The board has a standard 24-pin power plug, 2 8-pin +12v mb plugs, and 2 molex power plugs (ez-plugs).

My power supply, an Ultra X3 1000w, that I was hoping to reuse in this new machine only has 1 8-pin +12v mb plug (and 1 4-pin +12v mb plug).

I just plugged in the single 8-pin +12v and one of the molex plugs (ez-plug) and powered up to make sure I didn't have a DoA board before
starting in on the build....and everything booted up just fine.

However, am I going to run into problems once I start actually stressing the board with use? Do I have to get a different power supply?

[on a side-note: those 8-pin +12v plugs came capped off with a 1/2 size (ie covers 4 of the pins) cover caps. Could/Should I maybe use
the 4-pin +12v plug that the power supply also has on one of these, with the cap covering the other 4 pins?]

    Thanks.
