I don't understand this fuss about "Crysis not supporting quad cores" and such. Guys, there is nearly no difference between 2.5ghz and 4ghz in this game, at the same CPU. What would change if you had 20 cores that the game supported?
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

They ported it to Xbox in 19 days.

The whole game was ported to 360 in 19 working days. Although they weren't eight-hour days.

Its all part of the same issue of Crisis not using the CPU very well & you picking on the 2.5ghz and 4ghz in this game just shows how bad it is.

That is probably one of the most in-depth and candid articles/interviews I've read in regards to PC/Console game programming, I thought it was very interesting and informative (the Eurogamer interview)! I've always been curious about the technical differences between the console and PC versions of the same game, fortunately I get the feeling that A4 spent more resources on taking full advantage of what the PC has to offer (instead of just quickly trying to make a console specific title adequately work on the PC in hopes of selling more games). I don't know if it was this interview that changed my mind but if a company like A4 wants to make a game that tends to favor a particular hardware vendor (Nvidia in this case) and offer additional graphical options for people who use that hardware don't they have every right to (since their the ones making the game)? I didn't always feel this way regarding games that favored one hardware vendor over another but it makes sense since both ATI and Nvidia advertise and market specific technologies to try setting themselves apart from each other (plus these same companies work closely with the game vendors/developers and I imagine that money also exchanges hands). Keep in mind that this is just my personal opinion on the matter and it was only after reading through this thread and that Eurogamer interview that I came to feel this way....

Yes, that could be said, I suppose. But that doesn't have anything to do with "not supporting quad cores", at best it could be "not supporting CPU's" or something

Indeed trinibwoy, that is another reason I'm very hopeful for this game! I could be wrong but I assume that most cross-platform games usually get developed in the opposite direction; console to PC?

    I was trying the game, and I get 27 28 fps with a 5870+i 860 at 1680 max details

so, I think I will play the game on May 2011 not now.

Damn the game looks gorgeous and the framerate is actually quite decent.
It will be a good launch title for Fermi, that's if it delivers

As I said in the other thread, I hate the graphics, and what's with all the "only nvidia" specs? Piece of garbage IMO

Does it really look THAT good as to justify the hugely slow performance?

I mean, Crysis was OK, it looked great and made the GPU draw insanely high view distances and stuff... but as far as I can tell, this game draws nowhere near that much stuff. So can the graphics justify the performance?
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

This is shaping up to be the DX11 Crysis... except I actually wanted to play Crysis

So much for DX11 optimisations... I understand it running slower with all the post processing and tesslation but without it should run better ( Stalker CoP is a good example of this, runs better in DX11 than 10/9 )

So are we talking about Unigine Heaven / Dragon Scene-level tessellation here? I failed to see anything like that in the screens.

However, if the 5800s take so much of a hit with tessellation this means this game will be the Fermi showcasing game - the reason to buy Fermi:

"Look, this is a new game with a lot of tessellation, which is a feature Fermi excels at. All new games from now on will be like this so you'd better buy Fermi for its superior tessellation performance."

    Anyone remember......... Crysis?

"Look, this is a new game that looks great, this is the new DX10 era, all new games from now on will be like this so you'd better sell your outdated graphics cards and buy the maximum you can afford." But then 3 years pass and nothing comes close to it.

well tess was added later to the game (only on characters i think) so visuals aren't near unigine level tes so all those perf hits are result of crappy codding

Well it's definitely gonna be very interesting to see what GTX400 series can show here.

Lets see if all that massive tessellation power is just synthetic nonsense or it actually shows in real world app.

Looking at crappy GTX200 series performance I have my doubts. It's suppose to be TWIMTBP title and yet HD5870 shows some of the biggest lead over GTX200 I have seen in any game.

    Review, and the funny part...

Medan Petter svurit och skδllt φver den dεligt optimerade PC-versionen av Metro 2033 har jag njutit av den fφrbluffande vδlpolerade Xbox 360-utgεvan av 4A Games suggestiva spel. While Peter swore and barked over the poorly optimized PC version of Metro in 2033, I have enjoyed the stunning polished Xbox 360 edition of the 4A Games suggestive games.
Not really shocked though. Why optimize a PC game when people will just go out and buy a new GPU again

yeah thats what i saw either ati card are really good in this game at least in dx 10 much better than gtx 2xx series at least difference between 5870 and gtx 285 is near 60 70 percent never saw such huge lead before. btw can anyone compare dx 11 with dx 10 so we can actually see if dx 11 really brings something to the table
