    4Ghz barrier on Cinebench 64Bit

    I know this was a problem even for the extreme cooling folks when PHII's were first released...

    My chip will pass most benches at 4.1Ghz, but even now it seems like Cinebench has a limit, I can run it at 3.996, but if I bump the HTRef up by one and push the CPU clock over 4Ghz I get a balck screen crash....

    Has anyone figured this out?

    It's not really that big of a deal, my machine runs really well even at 3.8Ghz..

    But Cinebench just seems like an odd benchmark and may be a software problem...

    Cinebench is a bit hard...If u made test Cinebench R10, its not long away from 100% stability CPU. My best is with 3950MHz. How is your score with 3996Mhz? Post to Cinebench R10 challenge ,-) (in my signature)

    I fear the only solution to this issue might be Rev-C3/D0 (I hope).
    It doesn't seem to be hot-spot issue at all if even LN2 cooling nets only 4.2GHz as mentioned by *chew

    guys get rid of the ram clocks for cinebench in 64 bit run your ram at ddr 2 speeds if on ddr 3, if on ddr II run at ddr 1 speeds.

    dropped mine from 1066 to 800mhz and got stable at 3.8ghz from 3.7ghz. maybe I'll drop a few more.
    I haven't noticed any difference form 400mhz all the way up to 1104mhz lol
