I'm running the GPU2 client and two SMP clients which gives you a better PPD score

Yeah I have my 2900XT's OCd and they're starting to throw up errors so I need to back down on them a bit or figure out how to get them stable where they're at. That means I need to drag the computer back into my room though and set it up =/ It's so nice being able to connect to it through virtual desktop and deal with everything on there but I can't access the ATI CCC or the BIOS that way.

After getting my rig halfway setup here is the result.
    GPU-1 1724PPD
    GPU-2 2207PPD
    SMP-1 2679PPD
    SMP-2 2671PPD

    Total 9281PPD

GPU-1 is running at 75% CPU so I can actually use the system while folding.
Have not been brave enough to start the other 2 SMP clients.

Thanks to Mike and the gang for helping me get the right mix of OS and clients.

Not so bad for an ATI system.

    GTX260 folding rig

Well I finally got around to seeing what the output is on the GTX260 folding rig.

Could probably get more out of GPU1 by going to 100%.
Probably could OC the card a little and get better ppd.
But this is everything at stock settings.

570091D great output from the 9800x2s.
The one I have must be sick or maybe I need to update the driver, but it does not do even close to that good.

thanks, i never ran F@H with any drivers before 190.2 so i couldn't tell you if it's cuda 2.3 doing all the magic

i did run into a problem before i left for work though, gpu3 appeared to stop folding on fahmon but the client is reporting progress. i'll probably post a few questions if it's still FUBAR when i get home...

i can only hope stanford is working on a client that takes advantage of cuda 2.3's sli capabilities.

Updated from 180 to the 190 driver.
    Hope that helps the efficiency.

Running 185 drivers, 190's were flaky for me. Also, it seems maybe I need to cut a hole for a 120mm fan in the side of the case because I'm reaching 95°C on the cards atm. Heat also keeps me from getting higher than 1512 on the shaders.

    9800x2 low PPD

Well my 9800x2 is just not performing like it should.
Only gets maybe 2K per GPU.

I updated to the new driver no help.
They are running at around 40C @ load so I do not think it is a heat issue.

    Suggestions??

Great catch OldChap I have PhysX on and I found that both GPU where running on one GPU.

Must have fat figured the config.

I fixed the GPU configs so that they are running separate.
Will have to fix the PhysX tomorrow.

I think I have the PhysX set on my GTX260's as well.
    Should PhysX always be off?

yeah, when physx is on the driver will keep everything else from using the gpu. the only time i turn it on is when i'm playing a game designed to run physx like mirror's edge, otherwise it cripples your graphics subsystem.

Anyone in here with GTX275's? I'd like to know if 1548 for shaders is as low as I feel it to be?

I have gtx 275's, but I do not quite understand your question.

for F@H I leave core and mem stock, and shader max @ 1620. I avg 8-9k ppd

Hehe, that's what I was asking, other peoples shader clocks on this type of card. I bought the cheapest I could find and now I'm stuck with 1548 on shader, which I feel is pretty low.

For example, what do you get on avg with a 511 point WU with these clocks?

My 8800GT/C2Q rig is down, and my i7 920/285 SLi rig is also down. Right now my only output is from my OLD Athlon Thunderbird 800MHz. About 75/ppd

The 511's are the crappy ones; With shaders@1620 I get in the 6900k ppd range. It seems like the ppd might be a little higher now since I havent been running for a couple weeks.
I am currently running some 353 wus and Fahmon is showing 9500ppd and is normally around 9200k.

I use evga precision to oc the shaders; not sure what card you got or if you have access to precision, but it works nicely. I believe it can be run on other brands, but don't quote me on that.

Yup I'm using precision this time around too because RT throws me an error. And whatever I do I'm stuck @1548. I'm wondering if I should send it back, but if the difference between 1548 and 1620 is only 300 points then I guess it's just not worth the trouble and waiting for different branded card. I was eyeing the Zotac AMP! card.

Thats really weird that you cannot go past 1548
You unlinked core and shaders, correct? Also as you state 300ppd really isnt much, but it does add up.

As for Zotac; They are probably good cards, but I stick with evga, XFX, or BFG for warranty purposes. Granted I havent really ever had a problem with any gpu's unless I bought them used; never know what may happen these days.
right now you can get the evga 275's through tigerdirect for $195 after rebate and cashback, gtx 260's for $135-140 same place, or right now newegg has refurbished GTX 260's for $130. just some options

I'm European so I can't really buy from these stores (customs).

And yes I think so too it's really with these shaders (yes, of course they're unlinked), also sad thing is there seems to be no way of software voltmodding possible here. But ooh well, I think I'll take that as a loss because as you have said, g300 is just around the corner. By then I hope I'll have the cash for upgrading to g300 and Gulftown. *drools*

I need to repeat that. Gulftown with at least 6VM's and two g300 with 512 shaders each. *slobber*

I didnt realize you were in Europe, sorry.
I think I need to with you. 512 shaders

Anyone with a GTX 260/216; can you please post your PPD? I want to compare to a GTX 275.

If I remember correctly the extra dough is worth the 275 over a 260 IMO. Usually ea step up add approx 1kppd. I used to have a 260/192 but ppd ended up not what I wanted,; so I traded it in for a 275 and have been very pleased with my current results.

Just an FYI for the people that may think its not worth the cost; I have paid less than $200 for my 275's. Thats one of the main reasons why I got them over the 260's, but seems like there is a slightly larger gap in price now; approx $50 which to me is worth 1500-2k ppd more.

anyway I want to compare ppd with a 260/216. Thanks
