for those that dont know you can flash the p6t ws bios and kill the throttling on the p6t deluxe and also use the p6x58 bios for slow mode. I have a p6t deluxe board that will do 253bclk without the slow mode bios, tried it and didnt gain anything but that is still pretty nice for this old timer.

guys..I have a freind needs some help with his P6T ( overlocking) Im totally unfamilier with the asus bios..I need something like a bios template for 4.0 ( all settings in the bios ) i7930...6 gigs 1600 ram.

he has a crappy titan cpu cooler I just found out...we are at 3.885 basiclly 21x185 at 1.29 volts but OCCT crashes with cpu heat warning.. hitting 81c... I just sent him to 1.28 vcore...and he will call me back in an hour if it passes or before if it fails again with heat... anyhelp will be cool if you can point me towards the settings for thermal throttleing, cpu throttleing etc...something that is going to maintain the cpu OC without it thottleing down and up etc...and or a bios template showing settings....doing all this on the phone is kinda hard...so having something to referance would be nice. ( yea I could do all the searching true, but im kinda pressed for time...phone call is long distance )

hm quick scans saying this board tends to throttle anyways....ok cool... what im wondering( since temps are so high besides bad contact not so good cpu cooler etc) so far..Ive only been working with vcore, since its such a low oc...and everything else basically set to auto..voltage wise..anything in particular that would maybe over volt a bit too much with auto settings and working only vcore?

got things figured out... decided to just go with my basic OC settings I normally use...

but his cpu cooler sucks..lol 1.2685 for 21x190 still hitting 78-79c ... but mid 50s to 60c for gaming...

But I've been really annoyed by the fact that it throttles as soon as I put some load on all cores!

I have downloaded your ThrottleStop program and will try it out when I get home tomorrow!
I've been running some tests with TS on my 980X and it's working perfectly. Had to up TDC to 190W to get rid of all throttling!

    Hello folks.
Does anyone here suffers from "bios settings lost" on their P6T Deluxe when booting up after unplugging the power cord from the wall ?

My P6T Deluxe V2 started to do that "trick" on me some times.

I've search that on the web and there are alot of people with this problem.
If no power cord is unplugged then all is ok.

Anyone ? Any ideas how to solve it ?

i'll try and let you know, though i'm not sure if my board will be able replicate your problem.

btw, my bios now is the modded 0006 one.

    ---
edit: Nopes... cant replicate it. for how long did you leave the power cord unplugged?

i asume that u checked the boards 3.3v battery already. if not, that should be the culprit.

My bios is also the 0006. My signature is wrong

The battery is not the cause. At least judging from other people that have replaced it and the problem continues.

As this is a random event, I canot say how much time it needs to be unpluged to do that.

To some folks it happens always and it only needs to be unpluged a few seconds.

As I said in my case it seems to be still a random event.

There are also reports that it occours more with some types of vga cards !!
No one as proved it yet.

Just search Asus suport forum and you will see what I mean.

    EDIT: signature updated.

hmm that's one weird bug to have.....

figured low battery wasn't the case... specially if you say that it is a random occurrence.

mind you that our BIOS's might be the same but i still own a P6TD Dlx wich is somewhat different from the P6T Dlx v2....

thats why I thought, at first, that it would be difficult for me to replicate the problem... still if, as u say, it's random i'll have to wait...

anyhow, it better not be contagious

btw, are you able to use asus oc profiles to restore your previous bios settings? should be a life saver

Yes I can and use that.

P6T Deluxe (v1) I think also is reported to do this, and this "bug" is reported since 2009 !!

    See it here: http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?...Language=en-us

must be a design flaw.. if so, there's nothing to do about it, so there's also no point in worrying about it..

cheer up mate, you will be buying a new system in less than you think !! at least that's how i fix those kind of bugs

    Hey PPL
does anyone has problems with 2209 bios on P6Tdlx(v1)???????
After updating my rig with that bios i'm trying to install Windows ... and already 3 days i'm getting BSOD !!!!!!!!!!!! i have checked and recheked everything tried both versions of Win 7 ult. x64 (vanilla and SP1) both original MS images.

but i can't find what crushes my OS......after this 3-4 days i got left only 3 variants:
    1. last bios 2209 - does any one has problems with it ?
    2. CPU drivers - i7-920 without OC, last inf upd driver installed.
also last ATI drivers were installed 11.2 (hd4830), but i don't think that there is problem with them.

    Any suggestions ?

So as I can say, for my case:
YES! 2209 BIOS upd. for P6T DLX (v1) is UNSTABLE

After downgrade to 2101, i had no BSODs at all. I didn't reinstall windows or anything else on it. Downgraded bios only.
My rig is not OCed at all. everything is on it's default.
Check my hardware in sig. only X.M.P. profile configured for RAM

OCZ Revodrive x2 240gb compatibility with Asus P6T Deluxe v1 motherboard?

Is anyone here using an OCZ Revodrive x2 240gb pci-e drive and using it as a boot drive (Win7 64bit Pro) with their Asus P6T Deluxe v1.

I have been using BIOS 1611 since 2009 with no issues at all. It looks like BIOS 2101 has been shown to work with the Revodrive.

I currently have 2 x 60gb OCZ Vertex SSD's in Raid0 as my Win7 64bit OS primary drive. I only use this for 3D and HD video editing using Sony Vegas Pro 11 and Cyberlink's PowerDirector 10.

Theoretically, the Revodrive should make my render times 3X faster.

Need your input on this please before I take the plunge and buy the Revodrive

My old P6T Deluxe has developed an intermittent problem that's going to make me throw in the towel and trash this motherboard.

Several times, maybe as many as 6 times, the system date-time has reset back to 0:00:01 AM 1/1/2002. I guessed this was the cmos battery so I got a new one and changed it. Since changing the battery it has done it again.

    Any ideas?

I hate this board, it's POS. Took forever to get windows installed, and Asus probe = crap. Got sick and ing tired of AI nap; it would go to sleep and require a reboot.

I never had the kind of problems you are describing. Never melted anything!

I have this board (ASUS P6T Deluxe v2) since September 2009 with an i7 920 D0 running at 4.0Ghz at 1.32375 Vcore. No problems whatsoever! Updated BIOS to official v1108 on Saturday because I upgraded my HDD to 3ΤΒ Seagate HDD and the BIOS (v903) I had before only recognized HDD's up to 2.2TB. Do you know if there is a BIOS that support BOOT in UEFI mode for ASUS P6T Deluxe v2?
I had to split the HDD in two partitions because If I have to use the 3TB to boot from, it can only be of maximum 2TB size, if you cannot boot in UEFI mode...

well does anyone still remember what the max vIOH was for 24/7 OC?

my uncore is asking for 1.32v for the IOH (bclk 210, uncore 3356, QPI 3775, RAM 1680MHZ 6-8-7-24 1T) to be stable. as i dont own a IR thermometer, i'm adrift in misty waters here. the IOH, heatspreader doesn't seem to get too hot, but i can be wrong.

as for KostasNK comment: i was running way higher clocks. 4.4ghz, to be precise. and i also did Linx 20pass 5250MB runs for stable 4.5GHz. i think the 12v pin on the ATX24pin melted for those reasons. it's a common issue. actually, more related to EVGA boards. but it is still pretty common if you go beyond certine threshold.
