I have been trying to find where I can buy some Micron d9's but it seems impossible...anyone here know where to get some of these goodies? I was told you practically need to know someone to cherry-pick them for you who works someplace that sells memory...that sucks!

Low voltage test with my Teams, 535 MHz 5-5-4-12 @ 1.94v stable

*EDIT - to the guy asking about the DDR1300 Teams - they should be fine, if they don't cost too much grab some.

@ Waterflex - what can your sticks do with some more voltage?

I have been doing some testing on my MIIF with Static Read Control & Dram Read Training enabled, and Clock Twister on Strong or Stronger. With Clock Twister set to strong/stronger it takes quite a bit of vNB to stabilize it, I was around 1.37 - 1.45 vNB for the various tests. The use of SRC & DRT and setting strong or stronger gives a definite boost to bandwidth across the board and reduces latency significantly. At 534 FSB 5:6 Divider I had to drop CT to Strong, as even with 1.49 vNB I could not get into windows. Also notice the latency is almost identical between 500 FSB 5:6 CT Stronger and 534 FSB 5:6 CT Strong.

450 FSB 3:4 Divider, PL8, SRC & DRT Enabled, CT Stronger:

I replicated your settings with 500FSB and the memory at 600MHz CAS5 PL8, and indeed the latency went down.

Yes, I was running the 266 strap and 556.5 MHz ram, SRC & DRT disabled and CT = moderate, but now I run the 333 strap, 534 MHz ram, SRC & DRT enabled, CT = stronger, and get slightly lower read, same write and higher copy, and also lower latency. I can do that at on 1.94 vdimm too so it's easier on the ram. I'd prefer to run the MCH as aggressive as possible rather than let the pure ram speed do the work, and also it makes, the P45 a little more competitive compared to P35/X38/X48, although the SPI32M times are still slower it was an improvement.

Very nice eva, that would have taken awhile, thanks for sharing. Nothing like X48 efficiency, it produces impressive SPI32M times for the cpu clock. Congrats on 700+ too, very well done.

Eva, why'd you use the DK X48 rather than the LT/UT model?

Ive been interested in X48 vs P45 results for awhile now, so I took the opportunity eva presented and did a simple comparison between my P45 M2F and eva's DFI X48 board, using the bench he did with the TeamGroup ram. For my bench I also used my TeamGroup ram. Eva pointed out that our everest versions are different, so this is only very rough.

    My boards settings were:

    FSB: 533
    CPU: 3997 MHz
    Ram: 639.6 MHz
    Static Read Control: Enabled
    Dram Read Training: Enabled
    Clock Twister: Stronger
    vNB: 1.45v
    vdimm: 2.25v

The X48 had ram set to 5-5-5-9, my p45 had ram set to 5-5-5-15

    X48 bench:

how much volts can D9 GMH safely take?? My Cell Shocks are kicking ass!! I blieved the board the be a lemon because no other ram would Overclock, but my stock rated voltas are 2.3v how much higher can I safely go?

I wouldn't go over 2.1v 24/7, some use 2.2v 24/7, and for benching, people go up to 2.6 - 2.7v, more than that and the use of DICE is recommended for cooling. I have seen reports of people suffering degradation at ~2.45v in less than half an hour at that voltage, so it's really your call, but look around at peoples results and opinions on the matter. So many things affect the lifespan and possible damage from overvolting, like how clean the power delivery of the board is, how clean the PSU power is etc. Do some research I cant explain it all here.

Check out the D9 Degradation thread, it's full of info.

I think a few people are starting to loose sight of the point in this thread, to HELP D9 owners. In a nutshell this means trim the fat, ie; no pointless screenshots of mainboards.

That said and done, the new P5Q Pro deffinately seems to behave much more like a P45 should compared to my first one. I'll start to stretch its legs soon, I ghetto rigged a fan to the memory as I got impatient waiting for my replacement XTC memory cooler (which hopefully will arive soon.. doesn't look pretty a ghetto rigged fan!)

Excellent results, 5146 was on water right? That's indeed a very good chip and board, I want one

Really good time too, was that using any OS tweaks or just a straight run? What vcore/vNB did it take to stabilize that? The everest bandwidth is also high for that FSB, very nice

After a little messing around heres the latest results for my kit of D9GKX, certainly not bad. Now imagine how high those scores would be with a wolfie

Not too bad compared to the M2F at the same settings:

yeah on water - Dtek fuzion rad box http://i4memory.com/showthread.php?t=5133

straight run but with memset tweaks

1.6v idle 1.568v load in cpuz, bios was 1.5875v with 104% which showed 1.58v in bios

    NB = 1.665v with 1.39v CPU VTT
