OMG kingpin!!! you need 2x512!!! Bank Interleave is a great thing on A64!
we are talking about maybe half a second better performance on 1mb spi!
go find 1gb of good bh5 or UTT, then the WR is yours (maybe 20sec spi too)

    impressive fx-57 too!
if this is your first night in xtremesystems,
    you have to overclock.

DAMN!! To think I was going to buy that CPU from Jason and you ended up with that gem. It sucks to have to try chips from stores at full price not knowing at all what you will get like a coldbug and so on and all you had to do is pay for a cherry chip that was proven to clock well cold. Guess I am stuck w/ the FX-55 (non-coldbug) I grabbed from him for a bit longer.

Ill be kicking myself in the head for awhile for passing on that chip.
    Nice job and awesome clocks!!

...and to think I tried it and thought it sucked and sent it back to him . I told him I needed more than 5 minutes with it.. LOL. It's back where it needs to be now. These clocks/mem speed ain't happening on on this chip with DI, no matter what container....especially for 3d.

I agree bank interleaving rules....most of my benches in this thread are with 1 gig bh5 that can do nearly 280 at very tight timings. I am using 2x256 for a reason. There is something with the mem controller on this chip that clocks 2x256 way better at temps colder than -75c evap/-43 bios.
Got my 2k3 drive setup again for some superpi action later...

oh thats bad, double sided dimms + xtreme cold is bad i guess.
i would search a bit more this 1gig mem issue with different drive streangths + Skew

    nice
    I have -85 -95 evapo and -26 sometimes, -39 bios

    at -26 I can bench at 3.8GHz

    My cascade has a problem
I dont know, maybe a repair or a new cascade and locked at -80
    better than -90

Tough conditions to bench these chips in. So far my experiences with it is that it really like bios temps of -41 to -43c(around -75c actual evap temps).
I have run this chip at full load with 1.525x123%(around 1.84v bios) and below -80c. The temp cutoff/bus limiting issues seem to change based on a few factors such as core voltage, bios temps, and believe it or not mem speed. It may be possible that it will scale linearly to 3900mhz with the right ammount of voltage and temps. Everytime I think I hit a wall, I find a new way past it. The temperature issues aren't as black and white as they seem....at least with this chip anyways.

So there still some more potential in the chip?

Well i have to say kinping, after having a monster like youre 780, you still want to try it with the fx57 and kick some mhz out of it! you are kicking ASS!

I think so...my main problem atm isnt my cpu clocks, it's my prized mushkin sticks that are really giving me problems with this chip.

Chip and system are still running very strong almost took that superpi1m WR with 512mb ram and some of the tightest tweaker timings you can prolly run on bh5. Once I get the gig running right with these timings, it's over.

With my mushkin 1024 set, this is around 21.6 sec probably.
the difference isnt a 1/2 second bewtween 1gig and 512, but more like .3 sec or lower.

Really awesome! Can ya get the chip any higher? Is 20's poss?

  21. #46
20 sec could be possible with 1 gig ram, very tight timings, and something like 276 or 277x14 or so. CPU speed would need to be around 3900mhz.... Not saying I can do that LOL,just saying what it would take
