    ECS M830LR Athlon Motherboard

I need to know some information about this board. I have it for my everyday PC, it has a 1.0 Ghz Athlon in it. I don't know much about the board, other than it has support for DDR or SDRAM. I have 512 MB of SDRAM installed.

After looking through the BIOS for a couple minutes, I can not figure out how to change the bus speed or the multiplier. So how in the heck can you overclock it? I would guess there is a way to do it manually, possibly using like a jumper or dial, or something?

If you have any information, let me know please.

    CPU-Z information:
    MOTHERBOARD:
    Manufacter: ECS
    Model: M830LR
    Chipset: SiS735
    Southbridge: SiS ID8

    BIOS:
    Brand: American Megatrends Inc.
    Version: 07.00T
    Date: 04/02/01

    Thanks,
    Skillz

You might be able to use speedfan on it and go to Overclockworkbenchforum and d/l cheepomans modded bios and memory utility. Its the same as the K7S5A so you can use the same bios and mem utility. You can get a mild overclock once the modded bios is installed.

    Everything you need is Here

See all info on K7S5A guide, I used to have a few back in the day and cheepos stuff works fine. The cpu isnt the best for this, a athlon xp or duron(especially the recent ones) o/c much better.

    Hm, thanks for the info.

I have never done a bios upgrade/flash. So I have a question. When I do this, will I have to reinstall my OS?
