It could be a screw under the IHS

If this is true, then Trinity could be promising and delivered on time (taped out already).

They said the first samples got to their labs 3 weeks ago,so launch is roughly one year from now, unless they screw something up(again) .

True, because there is nothing to screw it to. The difference is that they might have used a lot of glue instead of screws

great to see another great product from AMD after the great Bulldozer launch
the arrows at the presentation timeline picture for the Trinity look even better than the arrows at the Bulldozer picture
...guess that must be so cause its on 28nm or even 22nm

"Generally speaking, CMOS power consumption is the result of charging and discharging gate capacitors. The charge required to fully charge the gate grows with the voltage; charge times frequency is current. Voltage times current is power. So, as you raise the voltage, the current consumption grows linearly, and the power consumption quadratically, at a fixed frequency. Once you reach the frequency limit of the chip without raising the voltage, further frequency increases are normally proportional to voltage. In other words, once you have to start raising the voltage, power consumption tends to rise with the cube of frequency."

Well that's a tape out, not sample out.

Trinity is a 32nm product according to AMD roadmaps. It is quite obvious that Trinity will be better than Llano (at least CPU-side of things) as it has BDgen2-cores.. Probably a bit beefier and improved GPU too.

    Presentations.
As quoted by LowRun......"So, we are one week past AMD's worst case scenario for BD's availability but they don't feel like communicating about the delay, I suppose AMD must be removed from the reliable sources list for AMD's products launch dates"

The image has been manipulated (poorly I must say) with a perspective tool to make the chip look square as if you are looking at it...look at the top of the IHS is goes up to the right and the chip is not even really square.

Pic was probably taken at a bit of an angle I'd say to the left side, just look at the thumb and how it cuts into the IHS

Here is the video that picture was taken from: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbIboX36Lhs
At the very end just before the camera man faints you can see that CPU
