It's really hard to tell from the pic's, but the break out box that connects to the motherboard, is that just a USB expander thing ?

I think it's a frontpanel. Maybe it includes a card reader.

€dith: Nope, just two USB 3.0.

Looks like that ASUS has finally invented the POST Code LEDs.

IMHO this board is ugly but at least hopefully has better and more stable PWM than the now available ASUS mobos.

    @OP:
    I don't like the colours.
Only a single 8-pin? No extra 4-pin for GFX cards?
Other than that it looks fine for a budget board.
EFI is definitely a welcome change.
Digital VRM gets thumbs up from me - about time!

Given the TDPs of the Sandy Bridge chip lineup, why would you need anything more? Hell, prior generations with more power hungry chips ran just fine off a 4-pin. In addition, I don't believe this is meant to be an enthusiast class board.

Why use digital VRM, then? This board might not be meant for DICE / LN2, but I am sure people buying it will intend to OC for the most part... Look at all the previous Deluxe boards made by ASUS.

Better power efficiency and management perhaps?

Read up on DIGI+ VRM in the link I posted above. It's quite interesting.

What I like most is the integration of a proper LAN chipset for once, an Intel one and also 4 USB 3.0 ports. ^^ Digital wrms are fine as long as they don't squeel, so will have to wait some tests to confirm if there's any squeel first but with such large heatsink seated on top of them I doubt there will be any... and where's the leaked OC results damnit about time they should start popping up! ^^

Nice, the CPU looks like it would be pushed to the very limits on aircooling though, looks like voltage/frequency scaling is really bad past 5GHz. For 24/7 aircooling use it starts to look a bit like these CPUs would be good for 4.8~5GHz depending on your luck at <1.4v. For HT enabled I'd concider it a fairly good result though, haven't seen any HT disabled OCs yet, just to see how much easier it OCs then.

should be safe to run those volts if your under a decent watter system. looking over this board, it's just total awesome, i was thinking about that sexy gold gigabyte board but now im not to sure, Im a big Asus guy and taking into account the Intel LAN (about fricken time!), The excellent slot layout (IMO) and EFI this just might be my next board and maxing 5+GHZ under air/watter whats not to like. Im just so pumped for SB, about time to upgrade my q6600 anyways

The board colors reminds me of the Gigabyte design..

I would like to know more about the "Dual Intelligent Processors."

Just click on the link Helios posted.

I'll wait to see what they can offer besides this latest iteration of the TUF. Out of all of their workstation boards the Sabertooth was on the bottom of my list considering what else they made.

awesome looking board! Asus gonna dominate!

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?
