Amazon preorder at 520 is really good news for people looking at picking that up, 600$ would have been such a nonsense price. Hopefully with cayman putting on a good show and if AMD decides to price it a little aggressively this will be not far from 450$ and cayman should also hover around 400$.

Also, if the new ATI cards are way better and around 400-450, then I think Nvidia will lower the price of the 580's to maybe 350 or so. Either way, the consumer will win this Christmas. Perfect timing for me cause I wanna build my new PC around that time.
    I sure hope so .

I didn't say it was a scientific comparison, it will obv be better, but I don't think by a whole lot. As I said though, if the price is right, then the small performance increase, lower temps & power consumption, and possibly better OC'ing will make it a good card.

TBH the card looks a lot like 480. Almost makes me think it's photoshopped.

GTX 580 GPU Caps Viewer Screenshot

I just received this screenshot of GPU Caps Viewer showing some specs of the GeForce GTX 580. The features seem to match the ones detailled in this post…

Maybe a nice photoshoped picture? Anyway, as usual take this info with a grain of salt

Indian shop price is about $700 ya i know but then again its an expensive shop and even GTX 480 is still quite expensive here

To be fair, I'm still not sure it isn't a 480. Everything so far smells like a GF100 reaching it's target clocks. If it doesn't have any real changes and still manages to be a paper launch I'll be a little shocked.

It'll effectively mean that nvidia have released a card a whole 12 months late... and then renamed it. I was expecting this card November 2009.

I would feel a lot more comfortable about this card if it was named GTX 485.

580 of the temperature and the true specification, we all do not guess the old

Add the card pulled 900MHZ 1.013V voltage directly and easily. (For any test)

Add what you want .. broken wheel is not made plans, MSI testing tools for 10 minutes by default frequency fan 67% (auto) .. 86, the normal temperature test environment.

Sounds crazy ... 900MHz on GPU with only 1.013V

And 29° @ 50% fan is realy near from GF104 but we don't know about ambient temp.

At 1GHz and with Fermi great performance scaling, we could be looking at another 25-30% boost. That would be really something.

it's cause the card still look on 2D mode.... look the current clock .... 51mhz ??? so with 2D voltage and 2D clocks .... + 50% fans...
now look the GPU caps viewer .. 40°C in idle with fan @40%( if we can trust thoses value )
But the OC is nice ... if it keep it..

anyway what is the default Vcore on 480 ?
