Make sure u start a new thread as im not on here much so i wanna see this schizzle!

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

    @ Nizzen

    Nice, but only ATTO?
Please try AS SSD Benchmark (+ copy), FC-Test (create, read, copy) and IO-Meter (Workstation, Database and Fileserver) too
    And maybay some real-world-benches???

    @ all

    Who can confirm this?

    Drives > 2TB with SATA2/SAS-Controller "bad"
    Drives > 2TB with 6Gb-Controller "good"

That is to say my ARC-1261ML cannot brake 32TB-Barriere (16x 2TB)

    edit:

The Problem is the sector-size 512b

there is a document on arecas website fittingly called "over 2TB" under manuals that should have a better explanation:

You mean >2TB per volume (e.g. Raid-Array), but i mean >2TB for a single drive
The ARC-1880 spupports both (volume an drive >2TB).

Still haven't got my cables they were delivered to wrong address today and its bank holiday here so Tuesday earliest. I have just bought 4 Corsair F40 coming Tuesday also so I will try them on the card.

I couldn't believe the price of them value wise and with this card they should preform well I hope. Still keep my 2 Intels though. Seems these little drives are perfect for raiding and cost performance ratio

Based on what I have read i agree, the little F40's should be great in raid.

    It's OK, not great though.

    Sequential is good
    Random so-so

My PB score on the ICH is 1670, not sure how it compares to the 9260, I guess the 1GB cache gives the Areca the edge.

So the ARC-1680 battery can be used in ARC-1880 series?

Nizzen is currently running the default config -> 1GB

The 1880IX-12/16/24 are user upgradable to 4GB

(Note that not all models are upgradable to 4GB)

For only 1G of cache - good job Mr Nizzen!
I think my PB AS SSD is 1945 - 5xacard 1231ML-4G - and that's pulling out all the stops -

Wonder if Areca still uses old heatsink dimensions on 1880ix series.
    12xx heatsink:

    Anyone?
Just let me say everything can be cooled a different way.

Have a Mips singleslot for 12xx series but I guess nobody has tried one of those on new 1880 series.
The heatsink shot above is from 12xx series. From photos it looks like even the singleslot version will fit as Areca hasn't changed much according the position of the cards processors.

    btw: Grüße ins luxx.
