Nvidia GTX 480 under LN2, with stock volts!!!

Yeah, I know, this is terribly lame. No soft cand control the CHL8366 yet, and I have no clue which pin is the feedback one, so no vMods for now. Just some stock clocks under LN2, in a very, very quick test. Once vMods are done, aiming for >1100MHz.

Sorry for the big clumsy pics.

With Vmods and... a "cold" mod the card flies at 1150MHz+ GPU... and I'm quite sure that we'll see 1250MHz GPU soon ( just need to find a good card ).

Nice! Those are still ok runs, even without mods.

I think keeping that metal plate (HS) is not that good idea, like we can see from the picture.
You are as good as your samples are!

good tests monstru! definitly this cards needs vmodding to catch up with the latest special 5870 editions...
I am quite dissappointed about the Vantage performance, hopefully a new driver can improve something there. for 05 and 06 it looks like a good card.
and let me guess - it eats LN2 like we drink beer, or?

    06 looks pretty strong...nice work.

Asus has SW voltage control according to the box...I wonder how it will do?

I bet the card has an extra IC that can perform on-the-fly read/write to the VID settings of the controller.

1250MHz GTX480 could pull some interesting numbers.

Nice run(s) Monstru, thanks for sharing.

I'm concerned with the mods this thing is going to need to shine though. Mainly because the real ones never get released.

i think its that not bad at all really, even 03 i cant believe it could run almost as fast as the ati cards on "cheater drivers" which everyone knows are always better then the nv 03 drivers.

that back plate thing i think has to go for sub zero thuo too much water gets on it.

i wish you much luck in the coming weeks with the, card give it heck

MSI as well.. I wonder what will happen with the Vmodded, I guess I'll hold off judgement for those cards since the reference cards aren't really super impressive yet.

Nice. The 480 could be very promising on unlocked voltage.

    Woa, nice numbers Monstru!

I have some questions. Have you test some stock cooling OC? And, have you been able to test some better air coolers with the card? Maybe some ArticCooling or a Scythe will possibly fit into it.

Anyway, great job and hope you answer the questions ^^

sweet job! With more mature drivers and some nice vmods of course, these things could fly.

Why keep the metal plate on? i know it's the heatsink for everything but the gpu, but in the closeup pic of it, there is a ton of condesation forming on it...i would be worried about that. Did you insulate under it?
